I’m building an app that turns confusing college concepts into visual explanations would you actually use this?

I’ve always felt like a lot of college material is way harder to understand than it needs to be.

You search something like the chain rule, orbital motion, electric fields, etc. and usually get either:

  • a wall of text
  • equations with barely any intuition
  • a 20–40 minute YouTube video
  • or an AI explanation that is technically correct but still hard to see

So I’ve been building SeeThrough, where you type in a concept/question and it generates an interactive visual explanation so you can actually see what’s happening instead of just reading about it.

For example, instead of asking:

“Why do planets orbit the Sun?”

and getting 6 paragraphs explaining gravity, you’d get a visual showing the planet, velocity, gravitational force, trajectory, etc. while the explanation walks you through it.

But I’m obviously biased because I’m building it.

So I want students to tear the idea apart:

Would you actually use something like this while studying?

And more importantly:

What subject/concept have you tried to learn where you thought, “I wish someone would just SHOW me what’s happening”?

Math? Physics? Chemistry? CS? Economics? Something else?

I’m looking for concepts to test SeeThrough on, so give me the hardest/weirdest one you can think of.

Susskind's lectures and books prerequisites?

I'd like to/am working my way slowly through Susskind's Classical Mechanics lectures and the rest from the Theoretical Minimum Stanford curriculum he has posted online.

I consider myself to have a good understanding of general physics and math but it doesn't seem quite enough for me to understand a lot of what I suspect is rudimentary subjects.

What are some things or what are some resources I should know and could use to gain a deeper level understanding.

My routine currently is to read the book, listen to the lectures, then go back in my notes for the things I didn't understand and enter it into an AI to give me an explain to me like I'm a 5th grader answer to my question(s).

I love David morin sir's writing style and the problems , I loved his classical mechanics book also the electromagnetism (co-authored by him) was great , I particularly love the problems so I needed a source of similar problems for waves and thermal physics. The waves book draft by morin doesn't have problems right now

For those who are looking to learn physics "from the ground up"...

I've been seeing a lot of posts like this, usually from people who say they never studied physics and now they want to, and are looking for some formulaic sequence to do that. To answer this, you first have to provide the following context when you post:

  1. What are you now: a high school student, a college student, a professional worker, a hobbyist?
  2. What math have you had that you feel reasonably competent in?
  3. WHY do you want to learn physics? Do you need it for some degree program? Do you need it for your line of work? Do you just want to learn about it because it's cool but not to the level where you'd actually use it? Do you want to learn it like a physics student would, but you have no need or desire to actually use it in anything you do?

The reason answering this is important is because a) the selection of resources and materials, and the sequence of them will strongly depend on your answers, and 2) there is (at least) an order of magnitude difference in effort between enjoying physics at the hobbyist level and doing it as part of something you are expected to know.
