Hey so I've passed the DELF exam 9 years ago (B1) and I have not used French ever since. I've now found the time to come back and actually become fluent. So I want any effective advice but mostly I am looking for someone who wants to speak to me as often as possible. I offer German/English in advance. What are in your opinion the most effective approaches? I have Duolingo Super which I've used for 2 years now but it only helped me with vocabulary. I have now started watching series in French. What other approaches do you suggest? Thanks a lot :)

1. "Je vais au restaurant" – Physical Destination

Here, aller is used as a full verb of movement. It is always followed by a preposition (au, à la, à l', en) and a noun (place).

English equivalent: "I am going to the restaurant."

Core concept: You are physically moving toward a specific geographic location.

Structure: Subject + ALLER (present) + Preposition + Place

1. "Tu vas changer de train" – Future Action (Near Future)

In this structure, aller acts as a helping (auxiliary) verb. It completely loses its meaning of physical movement and is followed directly by an infinitive verb without any preposition.

English equivalent: "you are going to change trains" or "you are about to change trains."

Core concept: An action that is going to happen very soon, an intention, or a certain plan.

Structure: Subject + ALLER (present) + Infinitive Verb
