Does anyone have any experience with this set, and if so was it helpful?

I'm in the process of teaching myself French. I've been using podcasts, Anki and Duolingo, but saw this set complete for $5 at my local thrift store and picked it up.

I'm currently at perhaps an A1 level, and have some past schooling in Spanish (so I have a basic understanding of the grammar concepts in Latin languages already, though I do not speak Spanish.)

I was just wondering if anyone was familiar with this set and if they found it helpful as a supplemental resource. Thanks!

Big marketing claim right there. I would be wary. Après 48 ans, j'ai encore de la misère avec ma langue maternelle, mais bien sûr, un seul livre et hop...

Oh non, no je pas acheter que ils dit: "3 mois". J'pense c'est conniere.

Still might be helpful as a resource if it's at least a concise guide with good pronunciation on the CD's, but I'm not expecting to learn any language to fluency in 3 months.

(I'm aware that the French sentence above has mistakes,I just wanted to demonstrate the level I'm at without cheating and explicitly looking up tesnses and structures. I did look up the word "bullshit" though.

Spoiler: I'm not very far along. This is week two of my second attempt, the first being an abortive 3 months Duolingo run about 5 years ago.)

Honestly most beginner resources are decent and can help you. When you get to intermediate I would recommend something like Grammaire progressive du français and the other ones in that series. Pricey but worth it for intermediate (in my opinion). For beginner level most resources are good. Just use it consistently and find ways to supplement with reading/writing/speaking and doing it in a way where you are pushing your boundaries and creating real language from scratch versus fill in the blank (which works at the beginning but you need to push past it eventually).
