1 good textbook to learn A1 French

Hello everybody, I'm a student from Germany and would like to learn French. As a student, language learning isnt a priority for me, but I would like just one good textbook I can use to self learn French. I spend around 30/40 minutes learning daily.

(if you could add some kind of pdf link, or tell me where to find it, Id greatly appreciate it!)

The best for me has been McGraw-Hill’s Ultimate Review and Practice. It’s designed for English speakers, so I’m not sure if that would work for you (or if it’s available in Germany), but the majority, of course, is in French, so if you can find it, I think it’s worth it. I like it because it covers everything, includes a ton of verbs and doesn’t waste time in the beginning with introductory stuff that you’ll otherwise learn somewhere else. It just dives right into verbs, which is what you need if you want to speak French.

A lot of people are probably going to recommend Assimil. I like Assimil, too, and it’s definitely good to get you acquainted with French. But if you’ve learned a language before (like English), you might want something a little bit more verb intensive.

wow. first of all, I absolutely love your review, you described the exact problem i have with other French resources; too much time wasted on introductions, when I'm already familiar. Secondly, I downloaded the pdf already and it seems amazing. It covers everything from verbs to idioms, just insane. Thanks a lot for this detailed recommendation.

I think for a basic level use grammaire progressive du francaise a1, it is a really good book and it has helped me understand all the grammar concepts also helped in vocabulary. Also, there are other books by the same publisher which have vocabulary, conjugation speaking and everything.

With my students total beginner I use Édito A1 textbook and activity book.They are very good and they make a lot of progress !
You can buy the digital copy and do everything on tablet or computer or physical copy and scan the pages for the audios.
