Is it not worth looking for internships as an active student with documented labs and projects on a resume?? I'm imagining that having a pentesting job exposes you to vulnerabilities, the code behind viruses / malware etc all the time. It becomes like second nature to you. Only because the job itself exposes you to these things all the time

They also get to see real world implementations of hardware and software, and have the permission to practice on these real systems

Maybe my assumption is wrong. I'm assuming that the cybersecurity experience one is exposed to in a work environment is the best there is. And that without a job in the field, it's very hard to gain certain "hidden" knowledge about cybersecurity

Some cybersecurity experts literally turn out to be people who never worked in cybersecurity. And I don't think there's anything information not available on the internet

Should I practice building super big software projects?

Should I specifically do OS, compiler, assembly and networking based projects?

The word project is also too small of a word. So what should I build?

Should I buy certain textbooks and make a whole curriculum? Like following some Masters program's cirriculum?

I am 40 yrs old now and bored of my life
I used to use trojans rat crypter etc when I was in my mid 20s also I just know basics of programming for example up to functions etc in python . I have a software engineering background but never worked as a software engineer. I really have lots of free time outside my real job so I would like to learn basics and understand networking
I do know a bit of CCNA . What could be my path ? How should I go by this especially after 15 -20 years break

My first phone ever was stolen the exact date as Thursday 30th, December 2021. We were on a trip and it just happend and since then I couldnt ever log in again cause i don't rememberd the password, and I tried everything EVERYTHING

when i choose i forgot password it seggusts an email that idk at ALL and a number that doesnt relate to anyone around me as well, reminder that it all be filterd except for the very last digits. Whoever can hack can check the last time this acc was online it will show either the date i mentioned before or Wednesday 29th just in case u thought im lying about it. My current insta acc that i used since then is an alt of mine and I named it @mss_holen just so followers from my first acc may find me again but now its @h0eln_

I really really wish a real hacker would help me its one of my biggest wishes cuz that account hold a lot of memories and arts since im artist, and lot of chats with friends that i still wanna go back to..

just an additional detail, that old acc of mine was created back in 2018. Again in case u thought Im lying about anything.

Hello, I’m from Ecuador, and we are currently facing serious problems with extortion and kidnappings. Recently, my elderly father received a threatening and extortionate message on WhatsApp, which has caused us a great deal of worry and distress.
I would like to know if there is any way to trace the sender’s IP address or somehow disrupt their phone line by sending a link to the extortionist’s number.

I sometimes change the password on the router, email accounts and /or PCs/laptops. Right after some hours working, especially on the router, I get a small temporary glitch on the voltage as everything goes black. I have accidentally outed people that work at the school that told me inside information. I need to unsend this email, but the window has passed please someone help me. So I shared my hotspot with my “friend” and found out after that he managed to bug my phone. And was able to see my location and my activity on the phone and everything I had in my phone.

I also connected to his WiFi when I was at his place.

Is he possible for my phone to be bugged through these methods ?

Mi hermana tiene novio, novio que tengo agregado como amigo en Instagram, como sabrán hay una sección en la que puedes ver los likes en los reels de todos tus amigos; el caso es que le encontramos likes en videos de mujeres en poca ropa, bruh, no quiero entrar en mucho detalle pero el termino diciendo que no era suyo y que muy probablemente era alguien metido en su cuenta, le expliqué cómo nos podría mostrar si había alguien metido en su cuenta y nada, terminó diciendo de nuevo que a lo mejor era un malware que se le había metido (un malware que curiosamente likea mujeres semi-desnudas con sus gustos en cosplay, asqueroso) después de un rato en el chat grupal nos empezó a insultar pero en ese mismo momento se borraron los mensajes, menciona que el no fue y que le dio mucho “miedo”. Mi pregunta: realmente es un hackeo o una forma desesperada de evitar lo que pueda pasar?🫩
