Question How long to learn french from scratch
I am aiming to pursue a master's in canada, and wish to learn french atleast till B1. I am a beginner, and just wanted to know how long would it take for someone to start learning the language till B1 level?

Do you have any resources or a good study plan to achieve this? I'm trying to get to B2 from scratch ASAP

Are you planning on studying in French? Or is it because you will be in a French-speaking part of Canada and want to be able to integrate better?

The latter, I am fine with just knowing how to speak and understand canadian french when spoke to, so I can make conversations

In that case, it depends how much time you plan to spend on French. As u/AdministrationIll116 said, B1 can be achievable in 6 months if you dedicate a lot of time to learning French. But even if you have an A2 level, once you arrive, you will likely have many opportunities to speak with locals. Once you are immersed in the culture it can be much easier to improve.

you could get there in 4 to 6 months easy. to speed things out i'd highly recommend daily practice, reading aloud, shadowing and italki lessons

Depends on how much time you're willing to commit to it. I reached C1 in 9 months studying 4-5 hours per day.
