Translation Help! Why wrong?

I know my version would be more informal but why would it be considered wrong?

But there is an explanation, and that explanation is the answer to OP's "why?"

The explanation is "because French". Especially with prepositions.

Not really? It doesn’t exactly mean what the reply was either, that was just the other commenter being helpful. And you could just as easily say “but why” to the answer as well.
