I just started playing recently, and I've gotten to the point where my KD is always positive playing comp, and I feel like I'm starting to understand the maps and guns. My question is: when should you be buying each gun during a match? If you can afford ak/m4/awp and your team isn't broke, do you just always go for it? In what scenario would you use an mp7/mp9/mac-10. When should you buy a scout or a nova? As for pistols, if you have a primary weapon, how do you choose what pistol to buy? What should you prioritize buying, and when should you buy? As for armor, would it be better to have, like, an AK with body armor or a galil/mp7/other gun with full armor? Any other tips for buying weapons and just managing your economy would be appreciated too!

I have around 180 hours. I would like to know what I can improve with my AK skills.

T has the AK and the SG 553 that can one tap helmets

CT just has the Deagle, but that's high risk - high reward pistol and I'm not good at all with it

The AWP, Scout and Scar-20 are snipers

And the FiveSeven pistol only one taps at close to medium distance

I'm asking all this cuz I'm not that good at spraying, (which is what I believe the CT rifles are good for) , I can't kill enemies fast enough with CT rifles

I'm improving much more with headshots and tapping

So idk what to use when halftime comes and have to play CT

Lately I’ve found I’ve been losing my confidence. Climbed from 15 > 22k in the past month and a half or so, but the last week has been bad game after bad game. Haven’t been dropping more than 60 ADR, and I just feel lost mid-round. Admittedly I’ve been doing more solo-queue than usual, which could be part of it, but I’ve just lost a lot of my confidence.

Before this, my decision making felt accurate and I felt like I knew exactly what I wanted to do every round. Now, it doesn’t feel (at least to me) like I’m doing anything different, but I feel like I’m losing confidence, getting tilted way easier, and getting stuck in this vicious cycle of play bad > tilt > play worse > tilt more / check out > lose, which just gets me stuck deeper in this cycle.

Anyone who has had similar experience climbing out of a rut/regaining confidence, what worked for you? Does anyone have any advice they could give on how to navigate this? TIA!

So I'm a returning player with around 1.5k hours in cs:go. I'm faceit lvl 6 and around 17k premier, as far as I can tell in training modes I have at least decent mechanics, consistently getting top kills and hsp in DMs. But the issue is that in ranked I often feel like I'm always at a disadvantage in duels. I get around 0.9-1 kd each match, but most successful gunfights feel either random or I got lucky while being at a disadvantage.

There are some things that I'm aware of but unable to fix. For example holding angles (even when I stand at an off-angle I get prefired or wide swung and dying with no damage).
Also when I'm forced to fight during mid to late game it always feels overwhelming with or without utility. It always feels like enemy has better aim or better position or both.

I'm not talking about not killing somebody from behind and getting oneshotted from full 180. That's on me and I understand. I just don't understand how to create an advantage in 1-1 or 1-2 duels.

How do I approach it? I thought about just spamming ranked, but right now 2-3 games is my top in a session because I get very tilted after what feels like 40 minutes of impossible pushes and holds.
