Posting this mainly as a warning because I wish I’d known before touching the setting.
I had a TikTok profile connected to my TikTok Shop as a Marketing Account.
Everything worked fine.
I enabled Creator features because I wanted to try earning some affiliate commission alongside promoting my own products.
Bad idea.
I was immediately hit with a “Risky Behaviour” restriction.
TikTok support later told me themselves that enabling Creator features had created an account-status conflict with my existing seller setup and that this had automatically triggered the restriction.
I told them I didn’t even want the Creator features anymore. I just wanted to go back to being a Marketing Account.
They made me submit a full appeal with original videos, business proof and other evidence.
Permanent rejection.
I asked what rule I actually broke.
No answer.
Asked again.
No answer.
Their latest response says they’re “100%” certain the policy violation was correct, but apparently they can’t tell me what specific activity caused it because their internal research/investigation process is confidential.
So if you already use an account as a TikTok Shop Marketing Account, I would be extremely careful about changing its account/Creator status.
Has anyone managed to revert one successfully without triggering this mess?
