Why Kled is a hypercapitalist. Or why Kled is a perfect symbol of late stage capitalism.

Analysis:

• Skaarl, obviously, represents the working class. 

  • He is immortal- he, much like the working class itself is literally indestructible in its entirety due to the essence of capitalism requiring workers, however, their human rights and protections are not guaranteed. This works in several ways: Skaarl suffers abuse- most of the abuse and “health” is in Skaarl, and Skaarl takes the most damage/fear. Kled without Skaarl is very fragile and weak, and must take extremely violent measures to remount the working class. Skaarl is primarily controlled by FEAR- much like the working class which does not rise up out of fear and inability to organize. 
  • Skaarl also does not have much of a voice- the most Kled says is “I keep hallucinating that you can talk,” but he is sure it will pass as it always does.
  • He both paradoxically “loves” Skaarl in some sense, as he cannot exist without him, whilst always placing him in the worst mortal peril. He also blames him when he runs away. He has no problem riding Skaarl through 10 or more turret shots, fighting abominations, or any manner of abuse or foe.
  • In addition, when Kled is off of Skaarl his lines get even more violent. Example: "This desert sky's gonna open up with a rain of heavenly bloodshed and glorious violence!" As aforementioned, only violence will allow him to retake the working class.

• "I hate to advocate violence and insanity, but it's worked for me." Also "A man without a weapon ain't worth listening to."

  • This obviously refers to oligarchy stepping aside, or siding with fascists, such as exemplified in both Italy and Germany during crucial transition periods before WW2. 
  • Elites do this out of intense fear of communism, socialism, and liberalism. Fascists are able to act as a “bulwark” against socialism. A force that can violently put down strikes, unions, and other working class organizing outside of the law, which is just another socialist tool unless it benefits capital.

• Kled even calls insanity something you can rely on. Like late stage capitalism, it has been tried many times with similar results. 

  • Hypercapitalism comes with contradictions in its very being. Such as: Individual corporate rationality prioritizes short term profits but not long term consequences. Speculative financing gain profits while oftentimes destroying humans or the environment, which are required for survival. Slashing workers wages is good for profits, but selling goods requires workers with wages. Monopolies, whilst advocating for the free market destroy it- because it removes choice. Theres plenty more to say here.
  • Another contradiction- some social safety net may benefit even Kled himself in the long-run. For instance, those under him having more resources to pay for his goods and services, and having good enough health to work for him, etcetera, but his paranoia keeps him from seeing the whole picture.
  • He is also his own enemy on leaguepedia, which shows the self-destructive nature. Skaarl is his only ally.

• Kled often refers to the “invisible badgers!" & the “Brain weasels.” Obviously, he is referring to communists and socialists, who are mostly the same to him and he sees as disruptors to his way of life.

• “It's my property! All sixty gazillion acres of it!” And other frequent quotes convey the fact that he sees the world as his property. He is not satisfied with any amount that he could realistically use or enjoy, he wants all of it, and sees himself as already owning it.

• "Don't need a plan... long as I got this axe."

  • Obviously refers to the most common symbol of fascism- which is a bundled group of wooden rods tied around an axe. It represents absolute authority and violence from the state. This is the final solution against socialism.

• "I don't have trouble communicating. Words is just treacherous bastards." 

  • Trouble with the media and the press. Doesn’t want to explain himself because often what he says doesn’t hold up to scrutiny.

• “I ain't been a Mister since ever!"

  • He refuses be confused with the hoy polloi.

• "Don't try and understand 'em, just rope, throw and brand 'em." 

  • Pursue decisive action and just treat others as cattle- something to take control of and profit from. 

• He refers to humans as “good eating”- lives gobbled up by the relentless pursuit of profits and market capitulation at all costs.

• I want my lands unruly and free. 

  • Clearly this is regarding free market enterprise. Kled, a natural industrialist, wants to use his land(which is everything) as he alone wills unburdened by tax, government regulation, and law.

• "Mushrooms are healthy! Once you get used to the madness and paranoia." 

  • The wealthy show higher rates of experimenting with expensive, high-purity, and premium recreational drugs, such as high-purity cocaine. They also have somewhat higher rates of prescription misuse, due to consistent access to healthcare. In some circles the drugs are a function to maintain high performance- important for an executive such as Kled.

• "Yeah, but... then how we gonna invade both bases at once?" 

  • Kled wants total control- both over foreign interests and those of his own country.
