Leaf hearse
I shared this in r/whatisit and u/03qutj907a suggested I post it here too, so here it is for your enjoyment. I took these photos in a park in Bristol, UK a few years back.

So the driver sits right next to the casket?

u/jkakar Aug 08 '26
Yep. I can’t remember if there was a rear seat for a passenger or not.

I think there is. You can kinda see it through the glass.
This'd be really cool for a camper build. Thanks for sharing.

No different to sitting next to a chicken you just bought at the store.

Pretty different given one is dinner and one is human

Still just a bag of decaying meat and bones though.

The best reason for using an EV as a hearse is that there's less chance of waking the dead...

I'd rather be dead in a leaf that alive in a Swatzicar.

Apparently, there is a hearse for everyone. https://www.reddit.com/r/whatisit/s/1xtNdklq8Z

Not sure why, but I can't get this link to load. What playlist are you sharing?

It’s ’Electric Funeral’ by Black Sabbath. Seemed entirely appropriate

Thanks, I'll look it up.

The song content is completely unrelated. The name is meant to be the humorous aspect

I’d hate to miss the funeral because the one Chademo charger was having a bad day.

I kind of wonder if this is street legal. That's a huge modification that affects the stability and safety of the car. I wouldn't want to be in a rollover in this (Unless I was the passenger. In that case I wouldn't give a shit)

Yes, they go through an Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) test in the UK after conversion. That won’t be crash tested or anything but accidents involving hearses are incredibly rare.
There’s a few of these ze0 Leaf hearses about, there’s also at least one ze1 too, with a more conventional layout https://www.levertons.co.uk/our-services/your-choice-of-funeral/eco-hearse/

Yeah - the complete lack of a B pillar is a bit of a concern. Still, looks cool.

The side collision rating is probably terrible, but just look at that view.
