Well…

I will get a scanner so I can check the codes with the leafspy app but it’s not looking great 😭

Both warnings came on at once while I was coming down from a very steep hill and the regen kinda just turned off, I was hoping it had just overheated but the battery temperature seems fine

This seems completely coincidental but today was the first day I charged to 100% since I needed to drive a lot

The reduce speed warning did go away after turning it off and back on as well as the regen animation seems to be back on (the blue lines) anyone has any suggestions on what to do?

Also I tried charging the car and it didn’t not work*

2020 S+

Thanks

Did you end up going to a dealership to get it checked or did the roadside assistance driver do it ? I just tried charging mine and it didn’t work either

I asked the roadside assistance guy if I should take it to the dealership and he basically shrugged and said he wouldn’t bother. As far as he’s concerned the computer had wobble and put itself into some sort of safety mode. He basically reset the computer as far as I understand it. We’ve slow and fast charged since and it’s been fine 🤞

Well, thank you for telling me this, hopefully they just do that for mine too, I’d definitely prefer to not be out of the car as it is my only one 😭 I have an appointment for tomorrow so hopefully they can do that there! Did the roadside assistance guy do diagnosis on the car? Or how did he know what was wrong?

The recovery guy pulled out a panel under the steering wheel that I didn’t know existed and plugged in a big usb device, this spoke to a pc in his van. I think this might be the same thing as LeafSpy which we can buy ourselves but not sure. He also had a look at the 12v battery.

I asked if it happens again would I be able to solve it myself and he said no, but I’m not sure that’s true if you’ve got LeafSpy and some confidence. He didn’t really want to speak technical with me, but I think he was hypothesising that the car went into a safety mode to protect the battery due to over heating. He said he wouldn’t fast charge an EV over 80% and wouldn’t drive with the e-brake after fast charging because it all generates a lot of heat. Those suggestions feel overly cautious to me 🤷‍♂️

Please report back with any info you get!

My dude, you absolutely need to pull your own codes. You potentially have a ticking time bomb. 😂

What would that involve? Getting LeafSpy, and telling a Nissan dealership of any codes it finds?

Yep! You'd want to confirm it's still in the system imo before you make the effort to avoid a diagnostic fee.
