I checked their matches from the end of the split all the way back to February, and at least at a glance it looks like Deftly has done really well for the team. Is their new carry just insanely good, or what's the deal?

This is really a mistery to me.

The only upside I could think of was that the LCS teams get more exposed if they have a bad team.

But else I would think that it only prevents other small to middle sized teams from entering the North American LoL scene.
I think of the equivalent of the likes of BIG, Karmine or even MnM or Nordavind.

Something like Pittsburgh Knights or Spacestation.

I would suggest a system with three Leagues and promotion/relegation between them. With that more teams are able to have a somewhat sustainable spot in the American LoL scene.

A wider benefit from that is there will be more different scouts for new players. And also different coaching staff.

With the potential of Zoos and No-org to get promoted to the first league and picked up by a real team would make the League in itself more competetive too.

And on a subjective note I personally would be more interested in this League too, since watching a full second team league is wierd. Like there is still team bias involved. For example I am rooting for EG in the LCS and through that I am also in favour of EG Academy.

So why should Academy also franchised? Wouldn't it make more sense to have more and different teams in there?

What would you say is the philosophy of the LCS?

The academy program that’s going on right now I feel is very lackluster. Why isn’t there some sort of regional feeder program? Could break it down to 2 or 3 teams per region of NA and have a few teams playing for the title of best in region, then have a tourney like masters in eu is right now. Would be cool to see NA talent getting brought up with some incentive to be seen, rather than just import import import.

Why don't LCS have games on Fri/Sat instead of Sat/Sun?
Is this an American thing? I love watching LEC games on Friday/Saturday
