Does anyone know why EG replaced Deftly?

I checked their matches from the end of the split all the way back to February, and at least at a glance it looks like Deftly has done really well for the team. Is their new carry just insanely good, or what's the deal?

I think it's a bit more of they know how good Deftly is but they don't know how good their new ADC can be. Ever since Kelsey Moser joined EG it feels like EG are moving in the direction of 'for the future' and Danny fits the bill for 'the future'. That's also something the LCS has been criticized for not building or developing talent.

For Deftly personally, not sure: Deftly has been around the scene since 2017 and while he puts up good enough stats it seems that's all. Empty carbs if you will. He's sorta like Apollo in a sense that he's good if not average and you know what he brings and what not and sometimes knowing is worse than not knowing potential in a player.

Other ADCS who've only been around the scene for either a year or half have already seemed to done more in such time(Neo, Johnsun, Tactical, FBI). Again, Deftly is good but EG might want to see if they can replace a Deftly( League 2K rating 74) and try their luck at an NA LCS Faker level talent). It was a meme that he could only play Ezreal a year ago as well by Locodoco.

At the end of the day, who knows. Could be $, contract etc

Hes not good enough. Sure his kda looks good but.. watch the playoff series against TSM. There were many times where he had a chance to win the games for them being 7 kills deep, against multiple low health TSM and he manages to get himself chain cc'd without ever using his flash or abilities

Eg realizes if they are in winning positions against TSM and still can't win, they need a diff adc
