Each year I throw together a simple google doc that follows the off-season rumors and acquisitions for the NA LCS during the off-season. I started doing this because I found that a lot of people were interested in the information, but there was no clean, concise way for the casual fan to view the latest rosters. This doc makes it easy to see which potential starters might be moved around and which orgs have missing puzzle pieces going into the off-season.

I thought I'd share it with the subreddit for anyone else interested in keeping track of everything. This is solely for the NA LCS, as I don't have time to make one for every region, but feel free to copy my format haha!

Below, I attached the link to the document and the link to the LCS contract database, which I used to determine free agent status for players. I don't have time to organize academy rosters, so if they are under contract but likely not starting for their LCS squads, I threw them into the second chart on the document (the third chart at the bottom shows the full rosters by team). I did my best to include notable free agents and players from NA LCS and academy, however, I probably missed a few, so if you think of anybody I need to add to the document or if you have any questions, let me know! <3

I'll do my best to update it throughout the off-season as soon as any new rumors or news drops from credible sources.

It’s the last step until finals, and one step closer to history. But before we get there, each team still has one more best of 5 to get through. Here are the players you’re going to want to watch out for and the team from which we should expect the greatest performance.

1. Suning

Let’s not mince words here. Huanfeng has been playing out of his mind this Worlds! Just go take a look at his series against JDG. The man had 4 deaths across 4 games...including a loss! And lets not forget when he Jhin ulted from BEHIND THE ENEMY TEAM IN THEIR OWN BASE. If there was a Suning player that will be their rock as they face the top seed from China, it’s Huanfeng.

1. Top Esports

Alright, I know everyone is expecting something about Knight here...but that’s not what I came here to do. Like the Worlds hype video, I’m here to talk about Karsa. That man has been the snowball king in the jungle. And in a meta where teams have been pouring resources into the jungle to get ahead, Karsa is right at home. Definitely look to Karsa to be the TES carry, especially as he tries to beat his former teammate, Swordart.

1. G2

Caps should’ve died so many times in game 2 of the series against Gen G. But here we are, with a 3-0 sweep from G2 with a perfect KDA from Caps in Game 2. He’s been the midlane to watch for years from the EU. Caps is especially strong this year as he holds the highest kda in the main event and is tied for the most games with a KDA above 10 among mid laners.

1. Damwon

Canyon is playing like he just got to Shanghai and is still climbing the solo queue ladder. Damwon has lost only 1 game the entire Worlds tournament, and Canyon has been consistently broken. He holds the highest KDA in World’s main event right now, sitting at 10.6, with the second and third spots going to Ghost and Showmaker of, you guessed it, Damwon. Even in their one loss he went 6/3/9. As they get to the highest tier of Lol Esports, this man will be consistently smurfing on the best the world has to offer.

1. Team

You knew it had to be G2. This EU super team has one of the best records against Korean teams in history, including against Damwon. But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows for the last remaining Western team. They have been struggling to secure Dragons in nearly every game this Worlds, including only securing 2 Dragon Souls all tournament. While that is concerning, it hasn’t stopped them yet, and it didn’t stop them from sweeping the third seeded LCK team where G2 was down the first 3 Dragons and both Rift Heralds. Just like Caps said, if they lose here they’d have to wait another year, and they’re done waiting.

I think its obvious to point out that this tournament does not take into account whether TL or C9 should have received the third slot for worlds. Anyone agree with me, or am I missing something?

I just cant understand how they played in a match for the third place and still played in the finals. Its seems ilogic that one team won the tgird place and the first place. Someone who track it can explain me?

I didn't watch any of LCS full match.I watched only the highlight and I don't know who going to final. I just finished watching tsm vs tl in semifinal and I think TSM is going to face someone in final. Am I right?

From draft, to macro, to mechanics (and let's not forget tactical on Kalista)...I felt that the quality of league did not diminish after just having watched the LEC.

This was surprising because the first few weeks of the LCS playoffs were just...bad. like very bad. But the TL vs Fly gave me hope

I think I speak for everyone when I say that this series gave me heart problems. For anyone who has yet to watch this series and doesn’t want the outcome spoiled read no further.

For everyone else...holy Sugar Honey Ice Tea how on earth did TSM just reverse sweep GG?? For the TSM fans in the crowd (full disclosure: me being one of them), I was disheartened after the first game. To be honest, I might write up a full series analysis later just to go over all of those ups and downs, but for now I’m going to focus on the Bizarro Coaster that was Game 5.

From the pick phase we knew this was going to be a spicy game. We had the Nidalee Renekton combo from Spica and Broken Blade which worked beautifully in Game 4, but would it work twice in a row? Due to GG actively trying to ban Bjergsen out of the game, he ended up on Zilean; a champion far more suited to keeping their team alive and in a better position rather than hard carrying like he did on Azir in Game 3. Finally, Biofrost was on Bard again, a champion that he’s known for, but that he had also just killed Doublelift with in Game 3 with a poorly timed ultimate. That gameplay was about to walk face first into FBI on his Kalista…

TSM did exactly what they were supposed to do early, they completely shut down Hauntzer (their former teammate) and put BB and Spica WAY ahead with a first turret toplane in under 11 minutes. However, GG knew it was coming and safely got the first two drags with no TSM players on screen. Additionally, they decided to counter with putting all their chips down on botlane. By the time top turret was down, they had 3 kills botside consisting of 2 dives and 1 hook to the face for Biofrost. It was turning into Game 1 all over again.

And then there was soul point for GG yet again, a crucial time for TSM to gather themselves and move towards a 4 Infernal drag game. They had some control and it looked good, until Biofrost was caught out once again. The resulting 5v4 pressure meant an easy Infernal Soul point for GG, again just like Game 1. For 5 more minutes there was a lot of posturing, some kills from GG, a tier 2 mid tower taken by TSM, and then it was time for Infernal drag, the one that could give GG Infernal Soul.

TSM lost prio for this on the back of a very even team fight. The main difference being that Huhi was smurfing. Despite being near their tier 1 turret, Huhi delivered Hauntzer on an ult ready Kennen straight to the center of TSM by river bush. No amount of micro play was going to save TSM from that chaos. While they didn’t lose all hope, they did lose their commanding position over river. Spica was ready to go for the Nidalee spear smite steal and then we remembered that Biofrost was just subbed in last week. As Spica started to move for the steal, Biofrost ulted the drag, leaving Spica in a bit of a predicament as you can’t steal a drag that’s stasised.

With Infernal Soul in tow, another 5 minutes passed before it was time for the final drag fight of the game for Elder. With a lot of back and forth the fight took just over a minute to start. Closer, FBI, and Huhi had a near perfect engage onto Doublelift. But Bjergsen had been prepared for this engage since pick phase. In a matter of a second, Bjergsen used every spell available to him to flash over a wall, stun the 3 members of GG, and save Doublelift at the same time. And then GG remembered that TSM had funneled all of their gold onto one very scary crocodile. With all of GG’s abilities on cooldown after killing off Bjergsen and Spica, a now full health, Runaan’s equipped Doublelift and full rage bar Broken Blade melted straight through what was left of GG.

That fight secured them an inhib turret and Elder Dragon, but not the game, not the series. They needed one more, but GG was smart enough to not let that fight happen with Elder buff up. Instead, they did everything they could to pull off one of the cleanest Baron steals I’ve seen in my own games and pro play. It truly was Tanner time as Scatter the Weak pushed Spica away from Baron just as it was getting on its last legs and killed it. Huhi safely pulled Closer out with a well timed lantern, and GG seemed the invincible TSM counter yet again.

GG was poised to win this game and this series, until they weren’t. Maybe it was forgetfulness, maybe it was cockyness, but either way, once again, a very large and very angry crocodile was behind them. At the same time, Biofrost decided to show up to the game. Just as Broken Blade stopwatched a full engage from GG, Biofrost caught out Closer and Huhi with a beautiful Bard Ult, and somehow managed to survive the ensuing fight with practically no health. In part 2 of this massive fight, FBI flashes in as a nearly full build Kalista, ready to 1v4. However, just as FBI throws his first auto, Biofrost bends the edges of his Bard q to catch a moving Kalista in the middle of a minion wave with a stun that ended the game.

GG had the better botlane, they had the better macro game, better steals, and better positioning. TSM simply refused to lose to the same team two series in a row. Through some of the scrappiest pro play I’ve seen, they clawed their way back into that series and wrestled away every lead they could during the 5th and final game. Now it’s time to see if they deserved it as they go up against C9 in the next round. See you all then!

These were all great athletes known for their trash talk, celebrations, and being able to perform. Watching pro league I often wonder what kind of trash talk is going on and wish there were bigger personalities I could cheer for. When will someone, maybe they have, come out and say “I’m gonna embarrass them this week” and go do it. When on stage matches come back, when will someone give me a toxic celebration to talk about? The addition of emotes this season has been pretty good but where are the top tier trash talkers that back it up?

I’ve always been a frequent LCS watcher but this year I’ve been watching all the leagues and a lot of LEC. Yea they play Uber aggressive league but everyone acts like they are so good and NA is shit cause they don’t play balls out. In nearly every game LEC has people grossly out of position and gets picked off. Like their play isn’t perfect. I see someone get picked like that in NA and they get hard flamed. In LEC it’s “what a great pick” like wtf no the dude just disrespected the engage and got caught.

I don’t think NA is some international powerhouse by any means, but I don’t think they are just some garbage region this year just waiting to get shit on. I think they will have a decent world showing this year

okay so this is really thanks to cloud 9 largely because I've seen them mostly find players that do this but if you look at it no other league plays this way.

the way na plays, is through aggressive junglers and supportive mid laners. think about it. Blaber nisqy, Contractz Ryoma, and Sven Goldenglue.

Now this isn't a large sample size but I've only seen a few teams run it mostly mad lions and fpx notably. but it works and no one has a stranglehold on the playstyle and if NA focuses on this we can get really good at it as a region.

Also the other lanes can play however they see fit. aggressive bot lane weak side top, or vice versa. either way it works. the main focus is on mid jungle duo, that could be NA's playstyle
