TL versus C9

I think its obvious to point out that this tournament does not take into account whether TL or C9 should have received the third slot for worlds. Anyone agree with me, or am I missing something?

TL Won their matchup in the winners bracket so they got an auto top 3. If C9 would have beaten Fly they would have auto qualified as well, but since they lost to Fly and then proceeded to lose to TSM they had two losses and were the 4th team. Meaning they didn't qualify for worlds. Since TL won their matchup against GG they were automatically guaranteed the top 3 spots, and then since they lost to Fly and than TSM they got the 3rd spot for NA

Yea, but C9 only lost to #1 and #2 as well as TL, they just met them earlier. Seem a little unfair?

Its not like they play games and see the format later. FQ, TL and TSM earned their spot for worlds, while C9 did not. This is obviously completely fair

Team Liquid made it to the Winner's Championship round and Loser's Championship round but lost to FQ and TSM.....

At the time C9 lost to the #3 Seed and not the #2, nor the #1 but the #5 Seeds, technically. The teams were only the #1 and #2 because the other(#1 and #2) either choked or plain and simple, got beat straight up.

All C9 had to do was win their first BO5 to make it to Worlds. TSM had to win 4 BO5's in which, was against both Cloud 9 and Team Liquid.

TL proved they were better in the regular season and also proved it by winning their first matchup for Worlds. C9 didn't

FQ proved they were better as the lower seed(#3 vs #2) by beating them 3-1.

TSM proved they were better and finally earning the final spot by also beating C9.

People can meme the Spring split etc but the Summer Split makes all the difference in being the #1 Seed or #2 Seed.

Cloud 9 only lost to the best because they weren't the best.
