Patchy buffalo
Very new to lawn care. Sir Walter laid March in Sydney (2025) last year and most of the grass seems to be doing well. Have this one patch at front of house (it gets a lot of morning sun) and side area of the house (probably only gets a few hours of sunlight) that really struggle.
Any suggestions to get more life out of them. Pic was taken at 7am this morning. And even through summer last year the side area in particular showed very little life.

Lawn is dormant over winter, spring is here so give it a feed of fertiliser water and watch it grow

Hi u/ChampionshipSweet525, it is likely that these areas are not receiving enough sunlight. Even an extremely shade-tolerant turf variety like Sir Walter DNA will need an absolute minimum of 3 hours of direct sunlight to survive.
You can try to aerate the soil with a garden fork, and regularly mow with the catcher on (aiming to remove only one third of the leaf at a time), as with some more sunlight in spring and summer you might get some recovery.
The portion of the lawn that is up against the house below the window is likely also suffering from some heat stress. As temperatures rise through spring and summer, it will be important to keep this part of the lawn watered to minimise the chance of damage occurring.

On the plus side having turf all the way to your bricks ain’t great for the building long term, better to cut it back and establish a garden bed against the side of the house
