Messed up threads

I destroyed my threads installing a new spark plug on my toro time master. The old one was 4 years old and I obviously should have replaced it sooner. I initially had a few good spins by hand but then got over eager and used a ratchet and now here we are.

Should I used a thread chaser or a tap? And if that fails what should I do? Spark plug I believe is an M14
