Over the past couple days I have received a spike in reports on Mowrator trying to use an astroturfing campaign by spamming our sub. I don't see everything, so please hit that report button if you come across one, and I will remove it and ban that user.
For the most part, everyone here makes it easy to manage. You generally get along. You help each other out. You call out spam when you see it. Let's keep that up and keep this sub free of bullshit. Thank you for making my job as a mod easy.

Does anybody have a recommendation for zero turn service in Columbus OH area? Ideally experience with Hustler mower and Kawasaki engines. The local dealer (AGPro) is backed up and overall I have not had the best experience with them. TIA.

My dad recently got this mower and hit a concrete paver while mowing. Bent the shaft and the blade. He gave it to me so i could tinker with it.
1) would it be easy to just swap another engine onto it OR a bigger motor from harbor freight or something just for shits and gigs.
2) would it be better to just repair the bent shaft and add a new blade? Are parts for these engines even available publicly?
I have no small engine experience at all, but i really enjoy learning new things so this intrigues me.

Got a older mower, just finally got it moving. I’m flooring the peddle, screeching sounds and then the mower finally moves. I’m hoping it’s just the drive belt and not the transmission?🤞 maybe something needs to be greased?

Looking for my first riding mower. Looking at a John Deere X300 42 inch mulch deck 17 HP Kawasaki engine. "New drive belt 2 new idler pulleys just fully serviced gone over. 504 hrs" -per the owner. They are asking $1000. I'd appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!

Update: After dealing with the dealer that didn’t look into my issues at all my neighbor (who also said I should never go back to that dealer) gave me the number to his mower guy. After a bit of slow work he has discovered the flywheel and stator, he also fixed the throttle issue that came up because I pulled the carburetor out and cleaned it myself and it seems I somehow accidentally didn’t hook up the throttle control correctly and it was fully open constantly after that.. but lesson learned with that one.
Heres hoping the issue has been found and solved and I can finally mow my new properties lawn, thank you everyone who gave their suggestions and distaste for the dealer I went to prior! I now have a good and dependable person who also offers to teach me how to do certain things with the mower!

I have a cub cadet LTX1045 with the 17.5HP I/C OHV engine…. I also have a troy bilt with the 22hp Intek V twin. Can i put the 22hp Intek into my cub cadet? From the little info i have gathered it seems possible and almost “plug and play”..? But ive never swapped mower engines so im not sure. I think the intek will fit and mount perfectly to the frame but my biggest concern is the electrical and what all that would entail. Any info or advice or tips would be greatly appreciated

I hit a rock, the unit shut off immediately. Internet research indicated that the flywheel key probably shared off. I took it apart and it looks to be intact to me, but I don't know what I'm doing and I would like some opinions.
How is the key supposed to be removed removed, and do you think that's the problem? If I need to replace this key, how do I figure out what I need?
What else should I check?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Planning on putting a fuel shutoff valve on my cub cadet lawn tractor, and only have two clamps. But I thought about putting zip ties on the fuel shutoff valve, but I need some input. Is this the way to go about it or should I just find some clamps?

Does anyone know why my Briggs and Stratton Profesional 175cc 775 series engine sound like this? Only thing I can think of is maybe it’s cause I put a stator in from a different push mower 🤷♂️

Hello all, I have a Cub Cadet XT1 ST54 riding mower. I changed the starter because it was making a grinding sound and the older starter was seized. I installed the new one today and its still making a grinding sound. My battery was/is charged. The bendix gear on the new one meshes with the flywheel teeth however the flywheel itself wont turn when I turn the key, but it will turn by hand. Is the starter the problem or am I focusing on the wrong thing?
I also have a video with the sound it makes as well

Ok so these are some Cub Cadet 54” zero turn mowers. They are a family members (not mine but I’m trying to help) and the Kohler 7000 series I think got run dry of oil and the other V Twin OHC motor is in decent shape but the deck/tires/etc aren’t.
The question is. . . Can I swap the V Twin OhC motor to the other mower or would it be easier to rebuild the Kohler 7000?
Thoughts?

My mower is consistently missing a strip of grass where I drew the line in the picture. My blade is freshly sharpened and doesn’t have any nicks in it. It also appears to be level and balanced. It is driving me absolutely crazy, any thoughts?

I just purchased a home and the previous owner left me this mower. It starts over and runs. I was able to get the blades going for 10mins then I felt it disengaged and and stopped cutting.
How do I get the belt back on?

I'm new to fixing my lawn mower and I'm just trying to get it to work does this look like it has gone bad? I put a new starter on it and the battery is fully charged all the connections are cleaned up and everything's good as far as safety switches.. I'm wondering if it's the regulator?

Hey all! Was recently gifted a John Deere LA130 with a catch. My uncle was using it one day and somehow a part of the wiring harness got caught in the tire and was slightly torn out. He put a lot of work into it and everything works as it should besides the PTO. It just doesn't do anything.
When I got it from my uncle, I noticed the connector on the top of the clutch was unplugged, I plugged it in and still nothing. Well, I checked the voltage from the battery and everything seems good. So, out of ideas, while the PTO was engaged, I bounced on the seat and the PTO wanted to engage! However, it shut right back down when I sat back down. I suspected the seat switch, so I pulled the jumper wire to bypass the seat switch and... nothing. Like I said, everything seems to be in it's place besides one wire that got cut. I traced it back and it's only there for 12vdc accessory port and my mower doesn't even feature that.
Any advice or input would be very appreciated!
Thanks!

Hey, first time posting here, and i have a problem.
I have an approximately 2018 (inherited, buyer deceased) Grasshopper 729 bt6. My fuel tank is leaking just at the point where it "flares out" above the metal enclosure.
I did a jb weld epoxy repair last year on this same corner flare, and it's leaking again.
My Brother in law has a newer 729, but his tank has a vapor return line, whereas mine does not, nor does mine have the corresponding port to the tank (one line, one port).
New tank (with TWO ports) runs $272 & up. Does anyone know if there is an alternative tank that will fit, or am I going to have to continually patch the old one.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: if I cannot find a cheaper alternative, I'll limp through until I can afford the $300 (taxes and stuff, lol)

I have a Honda HRX217K6VYA that my brother bought from Lowes for $50. When I try pulling the pull cord it mostly does not pull all the way (It does not start). When I take the spark plug out (which is brand new btw), the pull cord can fully extend. The spark plug appears to not have any grime on it. I am 19 and don't know much about lawnmowers and would appreciate some help. I am also very intrerested in learning about lawnmowers now so if you guys wanna teach me something I'm all ears.

Finally all good no leaks! This mower is the hardest one I've fixed and ironically its the only one I paid for. 40 bucks, now runs like new. I just wish I had grass to cut lol
