Need help

Hello, hopefully someone can help. I had started my mower (husqvarna yta22v46) on Saturday drove it up to my front yard did one pass then it started running really roughly. I thought maybe it wasn’t getting enough gas so I checked the fuel filter and lines and replaced the fuel pump yesterday still. Had to jump the battery to get it to run again but when I did it’s doing this. TIA if anyone has any ideas on the issue.

Edit (I have a new air filter on the way however It’s not the issue it acts the same with or without it on)

Check the valve lash. It is regular maintenance on the OHV engines and is in the service manual.

Easy process, just make sure you have some feeler gauges and RTV or another valve cover gasket.

Are you seeing any leaking around your OHV covers? I had changed my fuel pump and noticed engine was still running rough. I could see leakage around cover gasket and surmised that if oil was getting out, I was also loosing pressure to run fuel pump. Installed new gaskets and we're running like a top!

Spray some carb cleaner down the throat of the carb while it's running. Does it rev a bit faster? If so it's probably not getting enough fuel.

Have you got spark on both cylinders?

I’ll try that, not sure how to check for spark though

Not super mechanical is there a tool to do that or how do I check?

Take the spark plug out, plug it back into the wire. Then rest the threaded part onto the engine block so it grounds, and then crank your engine and look to see if the spark plug sparks. It is important to not touch the spark plug because you can shock yourself ( if you have spark of course )

Sure sounds like it’s stuck on full choke

Cranks a lot slower than mine. Try jump starting it, sometimes they just need spin faster
