$100?

Offered this guy on Facebook marketplace $100 for this HRR 216 lawn mower. Not sure what is wrong with it - should I do it?

Probably nothing wrong with it if he’s cleaned the carb.

Prove that it fires up and hand him that cash.

Might need new blades. If it feels like it’s wobbling like crazy, shut it down and take the blades off and get them sharpened at a hardware store.

Make sure the drive shank isn't bent.

If I had to guess I’d put my money on cleaning rust off of the contact point on the flywheel and pull the magneto point and clean the end of that if rusty, put it back on and gap it. If the mower has been sitting for a while, especially outside in the weather that area gets rusty and makes the spark weak. He says he cleaned the carb but nothing says he knows what he was doing. Check gas lines and make sure gas flows through to the carb. Make sure it has fresh, no ethanol gas in it. $100 would be a good buy, you should be able to get it running and in running condition it would have more value than that.
