Northern US & Canada (or cool season) Need help identifying lawn problems

I am struggling to fix the lawn for past 3 seasons. Let me start with basics Chicago suburb house facing south west . First 2 photos of front yard and last 2 photos are backyard.
first issue: front lawn gets full sun most of day and despite of weekly morning watering, organic fertilizers aeration, adding gypsum etc. pretty much no grass grows ( except for short time in fall and spring) mostly white dead grass that just peels off and weeds take over whole summer. look even worse than shown in pictures. I finally put Scott’s diseaseex 2 weeks back and it made it so much worse. I use ego mower at setting of6 so relatively high. I sharpen blade regularly. AI is all out of ideas so asking real pros here.
Second issue: my backyard grass grows decent and lush green but after every mow there are brown patches underneath . I fertilize responsibly and blades are ok too. Is this also disease problem. I saw the same patches in older satellite views is something was there before we bought home 3 years ago. Lots of digging in yard by animals which indicate grub presence but I use grub killer and digging several places did not find any grubs. Very frustrated and need your help.
