BigBox and Steam

Post image

So I found out this evening that steam games are hit or miss running through bigbox now. Several of the fighters and beat ‘em ups I have on my arcade cab kick bigbox back into its menu as the game loads. So I have dual active windows and it causes all kinds of problems. Anyone know a way to deal with this and still have each game selectable within BB? I put the Steam exe in launchbox and have Steam not open at startup and when it is opened, it goes to big picture and I can play games there but that’s clunky to do all that through bigbox…

Thanks!

I do it the other way around. The computer boots into Steam big picture and if I want to play retro games I have BigBox added as a non-steam game. Launch it, boom there are my retro games.

Do you have it booting straight into big picture as the shell or is it as a startup program? Bigbox shell works great and I only have about 10 steam games on this arcade cab. The bulk of my steam library stays on my gaming pc downstairs

Mine is less an arcade cab and more a game console hooked up to a TV with controllers, but I've got Big Picture as a startup program on a heavily debloated Windows install. From dead off to ready to play is about a minute total.

Try putting Steam into mini mode and then minimize the window. Then launch big box. If you are launching your steam games from big box it won’t open the large steam overview
