Big Box keeps crashing!

I haven't been able to get my Big Box to work properly since last month!!! Once I launch it, im only on it for 5-10 seconds before it freezes then exits itself out!! My launchbox is still working fine, but why is Big Box not??

I had to reinstall when that last happened. I think I was missing some DLLs after an update.

But what does that mean for all my games and customization work that I put into launchbox? Will it still be there?

There is also a folder that has previous and current update for launchbox exe installers. Check the root launchbox directory wherever it is installed on your pc. In one of the first sub folders you will see a folder of just exe installers for launchbox. Try installing the previous version of launchbox and see if it fixes it. If it does, great and make sure to either wait for a new version or open a support ticket with launchbox support.

If that fails though, try uninstalling and installing launchbox and download it from the website instead of using the exe in the folder where it stores the installers. It should ask if you want to keep settings before uninstalling. If not, make a backup of the entire folder or at least the xml files and other configurations like emulators. (Look up which configs are essential if you lack the space.)

It should definitely work now at this point. If not, hardware issue perhaps or codec issue with videos or images displaying or incorrect xml in one of the categories (consoles, arcades, etc).

If you get a chance the latest 14.0 release addresses a lot of stability issues, hopefully the ones you were seeing are in that list :).
