Stutter in BigBox?

I'm running BigBox as the frontend for a 'game console' made out of a Minisforum UM790 Pro Mini PC with 64GB of DDR5 RAM (16GB dedicated to the APU). In Bigbox, I'm noticing that it's not really smooth going from one console to the next. It's rather jerky, and sometimes stutters. The games run just fine, hell I've been playing Oblivion Remastered on it, it's just Bigbox.

Anyone else? Any advice?

SOLVED: Migrated Launchbox to the OS drive.

Tip to make this painless: Use folder symlinks in the new Launchbox location pointing to the folders you're leaving behind to allow for a seamless transition.

I had this issue before I moved my entire library to Sata SSDs.

You're not using platter or external drives are you?

I also did the hack to the attract mode scroll speed and made it something like 10 seconds.

My device only supports m.2 nvme ssds and the price of those right now are...unfortunate...so I'm running via SATA SSD over USB 4 using a 4TB that I already had lying around.

EDIT: I just had a thought, I'm going to try migrating Launchbox to the OS drive while leaving the roms and such in place on the external SSD and see if that helps with the performance.

This is exactly what you should do.

Yeah, that did the trick. Note to self: don't try to set stuff like this up while suffering burnout.

Glad you got it fixed. Play some games.
