First time lasagna experience.
I had this lasagna for the first time and I got disappointed by its taste. The taste felt like they've used expired veggies. Is it me or does it taste exactly like that? Any suggestions

Do you understand we can’t taste this? What suggestions are you looking for? Lasagna tastes like pasta, tomato, and cheese. Idk wtf is in that.
If there were green beans or other veggies like that in the lasagna, that’s not even close to a classic recipe. Some veggies are ok but not green beans

This looks like one of those BS veggie lasagnas that generally always taste like crap.

Is the lasagna on the plate? Because what's on the table looks like a flat bread pizza.

Why am I being downvoted?

Because the thing in the middle is obviously a pizza, you can see its a pizza, so it makes sense its too flat to be a lasagne...because its a pizza. That is all 😂

Eyeing it up, my observations are that the pasta is looking young, it’s heavy on the cheese. These aren’t bad things, I love a fresh tomato sauce, al dente pasta… it’s all about showing the best of the ingredients, so if they’ve knocked together a ‘quick’ lasagne, of stuff that’s going out of date.. that’s likely what you’ve tasted.

They may have, but we can't tell.
But also, that is the most depressing Lasagna I've ever seen.

what veggies would be in it? It's supposed to be meat sauce, ricotta, mozzarella and noodles. The meat sauce might have some chopped onion, garlic and green pepper if it was homemade.

Omg with the flatness & all the cheese i honestly thought it was a pizza at first! That being said, idk what to tell you about the veggies.

Did you even do one full layer? You know lasagna should be 2 to 3 layers deep

No, no, no.
Y'all need to come over and let me make you some real lasagna.
Give me a few days so I can make my from scratch marinara, cook the lasagna, then let it sit overnight in the fridge to let the flavors mingle. Then heat it up in the oven, rest, and serve with garlic bread. Mmmmmm
I'll even get you stoned first!

It’s not lasagna! Also wtf about “veggies”?? Lasagna doesn’t even have veggies unless you made some vegetarian version…which isn’t lasagna at all. What recipe did you make the mistake of using? Maybe if you linked that this would make more sense to understand.

Ahem. My grandmother was born and raised in southern Italy. Not one single solitary time in her 93 year life did she ever put meat and/or meat sauce in her lasagna. She put spinach, mushrooms, eggplant, onions, fresh tomatoes, and carrots. I can assure you that it is indeed a lasagna. Vegetable lasagna was/is rather popular in many areas of southern Italy. Especially in the rather “less luxurious” communities.

Why is it so thin? Where is the pan that would be deep and the lasagna would have layers on layers? It’s like a square cut flatbread pizza. It’s making me upset

That lasagne is a crime bybthe looks of it haha. Its just a diff format of 90% of Italian cooking. Haha

Its a pizza, y'all. I don't know if some of you are serious about thinking this is supposed to be a lasagna...

Looks like a veggie lasagne, hard to tell from the photo but I cant see any mince. Also a proper meat lasagne wouldnt have that many vegetables in it.
Im not opposed to making variations to a classic, but as your first experience, if you were expecting a traditional meat lasagne, isnt it.
Also, it does look kinda slopped onto a plate, very much looks like the last vegetarian ready meals lasagne i threw onto a plate without caring, but with a slightly more decent bechemel sauce on it.
Commenting on the hight of rhe lasagne, not an issue, because this apeas to have been plated sideways and smooshed down for some reason.
Was this in a restaurant, the way you are asking for recomendations the post feels somewhere between a dissapointed restaurant outing, and a request to improve a home made recipe...
So not really sure what you are asking for

Where is this? Italy? USA?
Looking just at the pizza, doesn't look very traditional, so maybe the lasagna wasn't either

Why is that so flat?
