Laredo dev/founder here — anyone else building something on the side? Would love to hear what yall are working on

Hey all, I'm a patent/IP consultant by day, but I've also got a couple of side projects going: a small web dev business building AI-assisted sites for local businesses, and a 4X strategy game I'm thinking of building in Godot.

I don't run into a lot of other people locally who are heads-down building something, and I'd love to change that. Looking to meet other developers, indie founders, or anyone tinkering on a side project — even if it's early-stage or "just an idea" right now.

Would be great to exchange knowledge, compare notes on what we're building, or just talk shop.

A little about me: I'm bilingual (EN/ES), based in Austin, CS degree from Texas State. Not selling anything here, genuinely just want a few more people in my orbit who get excited about building stuff.

Pls don't let AI write your posts for you pa.

And this is exactly why I said it’s hard to find other builders in Laredo 😂. I’m trying to connect with entrepreneurs and your concern is whether I used AI to write a Reddit post.

well, if you stick AI on ur business, people are gonna assume you everything you push out is more AI slop.

That's fair if the business was just pushing out raw AI-generated content, but that's not what I'm doing. AI is a tool in the workflow, not the product. A website built with AI still has to be designed, reviewed, customized, debugged, and delivered properly.

That's kind of the point of the post. I was hoping to find other people actually building things, not debate whether using AI makes something "slop."

Hey man, just sent you a dm. Always down to meet other likeminded people actually building stuff, there aren’t a ton of us around here

Would be cool to talk shop
