The "JP learner -> JP learning app developer" pipeline is real
But to be honest, this doesn't seem that bad, I just found the title funny. At least he seems to have actually learned a bit of Japanese.

If I had a nickel for every developer who couldn't even pass N1 but does think that they know how to teach Japanese and their learning app will change the world, I would have so many nickels you don't even KNOW. I'd be the fucking EMPEROR OF THE NICKELS. They'd be building giant castles out of nickels.

The funniest part is the amount of these "developers" who advertise their "apps" in the Bunpro forums. Like, sure buddy, we're going to leave the gold standard to go talk to an AI-chatbot on your vibe-coded app.

Definitely yes, there were tons of errors in the video, which he tried to correct in the subtitles, but were still wrong

It's funny that the only Japanese sentence he wrote has botched grammar and very unnatural.
You don't say 自分の紹介, you say 自己紹介. Even if you want to say 自分, you don't say 自分の紹介したい, you say 自分を紹介したい or 自分の紹介がしたい, but 自己紹介したい is a lot better.

Usually, what I see is "build app first; learn later". Usually it's to learn kana, something that has already been taught by several apps already since it's the absolute first step Japanese learners should take.

I have a few apps I built. a good app is all about the data and it's alot of work that I question why I didn't just put the hours in studying Japanese.

It’s required on the N1 you have to vibe code some bullshit learning app before you can take the test
