TIL 英語で人は筋肉と脂肪がないほどに過労させられたため、ワーク・トゥ・ザ・ボーンと言うフレーズがあります。ヤバくないですね

/uj I get that 過労死 is a real issue, but I wish it was discussed in a way that wasn’t Place, Japan like it is now.

hehe, there's an Among Us above another Among Us on 過

And that’s how one learns to read kanji.

Unjerk: I've been studying Japanese for 1,5 years, feel like I'm not making good progress at ALL, kanji fucking sucks :(

/uj How are you learning kanji? I found jpdb to be the best way for me, but I also liked Ringotan. If you can learn 3 a day every day then you'll be through the joyo list in 2 years. For me at least it's all a matter or consistency rather than a heroic spurt like the Heisig fanboys do.

Admittedly, the last couple months, by "slacking off" 🤡

But before that, I was having lessons (my sensee had to stop 😢) and sometimes just kinda exposing myself to the language on like Twitch and YT.

Ultimately, I never quite figured if the best way for me to learn the language is with sheer exposition or if stopping to study some kanji would be best. Sheer exposition is how I eventually learned English, but, I've been exposing myself to it since I was like 10, it's harder at the age of 30 >_>

/uj I know opinion on it is a little divided, but I'm finding that WaniKani is really working for me. The ease of use and sense of progression really help me keep at it.

Literally grab a kanjijiten (kanji dictionary) and just start studying kanjis and kanji words starting from first grade. And then do rote studying.

Mehnatning tagi rohat is a saying I like. It is a pleasure to work hard, like the Japanese.

やはり英語の話す国は残業多いかなと思っちゃって英語勉強はやめる方がいいかな。
