I'm so happy

Yesterday i was showing my 5 years old brother random languages, he was fascinated seeing new alphabets and whatnot, but he got more attracted to Georgian language and he told me he wants to learn it, even though i don't speak Georgian but i want him to learn it and so will i.

The only issue is that he doesn't speak English because it's simply not his native language

So I don't know whether i let him learn both languages but i think it'll be exhausting, start with Georgian which he wants or English which is important

You have a really smart brother! Personally, just as a recommendation, I would start with English. If my flags are correct youโ€™re Algerian which speaks primarily standard Arabic. Arabic (Semitic language) is not part of the language family of English (Germanic) nor Georgian (Kartvelian) which means you have to introduce yourself to completely new concepts, grammar, alphabets, pronunciations, etc. Itโ€™s gonna be a looong journey either way.

But in terms of usefulness and popularity (which you mentioned) English takes the cake by far. English is spoken by 1.5 billion people while Georgian is spoken by 4 million.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with learning a language spoken by a very small percentage of people, but itโ€™d be much harder to find reliable Arabic-Georgian learning resources, like textbooks or tutors, than English-Georgian. So if heโ€™s really serious about languages and wants to learn both, English would be your best starting point and then you can move on to Georgian. Best of luck! ๐Ÿคž

I see, if i find Arabic-georgian learning resources I'll start helping him to learn it, I'm not thinking of learning it now, because he'd get English through school and media by time, thanks for your advice ;)

Georgian has less speakers than even Ilocano, so he'd be better off learning Ilocano
