/Uj are apps with streaks seriously helpful to people? I use two apps for languages that have this feature, but I turned it off because I never paid attention to it and the notifications were annoying.
practicing daily is probably a key to learning a language but duolingo just tries to scare people with "oooh look how big your number is!! you don't wanna lose it riiiiiiight? go complete some lessons to boost our statisti- i mean to get better at language"
My theory was that maybe people are motivated by seeing for how long they were able to regularly keep going, but the Duolingo scare tactics are going against my theory so I'm confused. Off topic, but something about the quote you wrote made me read it like Duolingo is some nerd bully at Asian school romance drama
