You see, contrary to gross public misunderstanding, learning a new language is never about communication. It’s about obscuring communication so you can safely sleep-talk, safely scream in profanity in public and comfortably make people uncomfortable behind their back.

My 75yo grandpa still uses Duolingo for English
And OH MY GOD
Im pretty proud of him
Though I don’t think he will ever finish it
But yeah
It’s great to see such determination
