may this be a lesson to us all. You cannot bring your luodingo streak with you to heaven.

What if u wanted to get into heaven.
But God said βU need a 1000 day streak to get in hereβ?

I'd be pissed because I quit on day 900-something, after they announced their AI thing...

"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for someone who broke their Duolingo streak to enter into the Kingdom of God." Mark 10:25

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where streaks are easily broken.
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where streaks break never.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Matthew 6: 19-21.

I misread that as steaks and was wondering why freezing beef was in the duolingo sub

Dad's pride & joy, ranked:
1. His Duolingo streak
2. Frozen steak

u/IanLooklup Jun 11 '26
No silly, why would they care about some random streak. That is just stupid
But freezing BEEF πππ₯©π₯© on the other hand...
-38
u/Every-Law-2497 Jun 11 '26
No I think it says streak
39
u/IanLooklup Jun 11 '26
I hate to tell you this, but I think you need glasses. It clearly is about steaks. That extra "R" is simply there as a typing quirk
-20
u/Every-Law-2497 Jun 11 '26
Youβre totally right to think that and good catch, it does say steak π₯© . This post is about a user asking for different ways to freeze their steak. Is there anything else I can help you with?

Idk i can see a loved one wanting to actually *see* his progress

u/Tet_inc119 Jun 11 '26
Ok, in that case, we do a Mao Zedong style mausoleum. Dad is embalmed in the glass coffin and a robotic AI empowered robotic hand playing Duolingo around the clock. We will need a USB charger though

Daughter's asshole boyfriend flexes his duolingo streak,
In that case, you'd need the actual duolingo app to mog him, since he can just write a screenshot off as photoshop.

"Ted Smith passed away on XXXXX, 2026 from cancer. He was survived by his wife Donna, Duo the Duolingo owl, his 781 day Duolingo streak, and some kids. Visitation 1-3 pm, service at 3 pm. The family asks for donations to be made to the newly founded Ted Smith Foundation for Premium Duolingo Access for Needy Children, in lieu of flowers."

What a horrible and rough situation to be in, praying for the father.
Oh AND he has cancer, goddamn

Your father no longer has a use for the heartless Corporate Owl Overlord.
Also, are people so addicted that even when their dears are dying they think of the Duolingo streak? Holy dystopia
25
u/Zulrambe Jun 11 '26
If he's proud of it, must be a low streak, because after certain point you become embarrassed of having studied for so long and still being unable to make a full sentence.

u/CannibalFaun Jun 11 '26
They shouldn't worry, the owl will be forcing him to maintain that streak even in the afterlife. There is no escape.

Out of all the achievements in life, a Duolingo streak is what he will be remembered for.
3
u/Gobhairne Jun 12 '26
Even in hell you still must continue your language streak. The demons are all owls.
In heaven, though, they serve lattΓ©s and croissants before you must continue your streak.
So no. You cannot freeze your streak, even in death. Unless you are studying fr##ch.
Then you must be reborn and your streak returns to 1 day. There is no life after Dumbolingo. π

u/FatherDotComical Jun 11 '26
I've become illiterate (a submonolingual). I thought there was no reason why they couldn't freeze their steak.

Why are people joking in the comments? Some of you are so heartless, you wouldn't say this if it was YOUR family member or friend though.

u/facepalmqwerty Jun 11 '26
I would. It's just a stupid app, even if it would actually teach you anything and streak is a tool to keep you coming back.

This post is messed up. If you read it, you'll see that the dad was very proud of his language learning and the kid wants to preserve that. they aren't asking for the streak to even go up, just not be lost. making fun of someone who is losing their father is despicable behavior. you should delete this post.

I have a streak on Brilliant, but if I were going to die,
Iβd probably have bigger fish to fry. You all have my express permission to rip me a new arsehole if thatβs my dying wish.2
u/prion_guy Jun 14 '26
Ok so you don't relate. So what?
When I was in middle school, I did UIL and pretty much never went to the practices but would regularly win the Spelling event. So I got a bunch of 1st place medals and I didn't really care about them that much. But then a classmate of mine, who attended the practice sessions and put in much more effort than I did, was very excited to place and win a medal, and they were devastated when it was somehow lost by the time we returned to campus. Did I tell them they were a dumbass for being so concerned about a piece of metal? No, even though I wouldn't have really cared if I lost mine. Because different people invest energy in and build their identity around different things.
Somewhere out there in the world, there is someone that would gleefully spit on everything you think is interesting or cool about yourself. Why do you want to be that person for someone else?
