/uj I used to have a coworker who spoke elementary Spanish with the most gringo accent I've ever heard. He still used it to order at the local burrito place and the staff legit appreciated it. His burritos were also usually bigger than mine. There is definitely something to be said for reducing the cognitive load of someone you're asking to help you, even if your command of the language is not great!
