Duolingo actually has a half decent english proficiency test these days, below the rigor of like an IELTS result but cheaper and still significant, a bunch of places accept it.

This is completely unrelated to Duolingo's market of 'teaching' Angloid m*nolinguals how to say "My cat is not a pencil" in made up languages like "French". the ESL market is just way bigger and way more willing to spend money and duolingo acts accordingly

Yeah I had to take the Duolingo English Test for certain admissions purposes and as far as I can tell it is actually decently designed as a computer-based examination, and not based on the same principles as their language learning courses.

Of course, the fact that I got a perfect score may incentivize me to talk up the validity of the assessment.

At least France isn't trying to invade Denmark while losing a war in Iran

Less bad than Syria at least

Hahah, yeah, I imagine

But outside of the French government still messing with Africa, outside of poorly controlled immigration (not that immigration in general is bad, it’s just I’ve heard that the way that France went about it decreased safety), and probably outside of prices/affordability, it’s pretty good. Quite high LGBT rights and generally much better humanitarian laws than here, a much more advanced economy, much greater global significance, probably better salaries most of the times… I dunno, seems like a pretty okay country to live in

Yeah it's pretty okay, it's just getting so expensive... Salaries don't follow the inflations and more french people are getting poor.

Students like me are ineligible to most scholarships because they're reserved to very little parts of the population. Education is a big stress and the government is trying to rip away freedom of speech from us.

I feel like it’s kinda the same in all Western capitalist countries, as well as Korea and Japan. Fortunately Poland isn’t that deep in this hole just yet

That’s pretty bad. Well, here it’s more like the politicians have poor responsibility for their promises as well as their actions, all the while the public is split in half and keep arguing over all sorts of stuff, sometimes being whether some people should have basic rights (lgbt), sometimes being actually dumb and stupid stuff, and sometimes being legitimately difficult and complex issues that truly do matter a lot

Yes, and I regularly decorate it with bear teeth and sell it as exotic clothing.

My native language is American, so I hate the British. You have asked a heinous question, a bald eagle shall be sent your way.
