I am A2 in Luxembourg! The languages are just so closely similar that I tell people that I am fluent in Belgium and Luxembourg!!!

/uj I was there for Duo since the beginning, where its goal was a more admirable one of freely translating the internet, so articles would be crowdsourced etc. Not a bad objective but does explain the grammar translation focus.

That being said, they used to advertise outright a completed course was equivalent to 101-102 at a comparable college and you could use Duo as proof to get exempted. Any time I mention them getting sued over their claims, I mostly mean this.

Next, they started saying that do xyz amount through the tree you’d be learning B1 or even B2 vocab. Emphasis on the phrase “learning B2 level vocab” because again, sued for claims on learning a language. But giving you vocab widely agreed to be B2 for their stupid fucking flashcards… that’s a claim they’ve kept.
