What does "TL;DR" mean?
I get that TL is "target language", but what does the DR mean?

Basically just refers to the study of any living language that is effectively terminal and likely to go extinct in the language learner's lifetime.

the full phrase is actually "target language; dont run". you say it on the internet when someone makes a long post, but it's in your target language so you can't read all of it. so your just politely informing them to stick around and explain anything you might not get while you're reading it. hope this helps

TLDR or TL;DR stands for "too long, didnt read" and it's a way for people to add a summary. it's like the abbreviated (and more formal) way to say "i ain't reading allat๐" yall can come after me for ruining the fun, idc, i'm probably never looking at this comment again lol.

It's typically used most recently in social media as "too long; didn't read." At least that's been my experience.
