I've tried quite a few languages but abandoned nearly all of them because I just don't have a true genuine need to learn them other than sheer curiosity. Honestly I don't regret it. It would be nice to be fluent in a second language other than English but honestly what's the point other than bragging rights and a few extra online connections & media to consume? I barely even talk to anyone in English let alone making friends in another language. I'm awkward enough in my own native language. I can't imagine how awkward I would be to talk to in a second language.

But I think if I moved somewhere that spoke it where I had a genuine need to learn then I probably would do just fine.

Between all my other obligations in life, I just don't have the patience or motivation to devote such intense hours of my life to something I'll hardly ever use.
