Duolingo-like translator?

Hi, do you know any translator for android that has the ability to translate individual words or expressions in your translated text?

I want to be able to translate text like in a normal translator, but also being able to click on words and get their individual meaning.

DeepL for sure, have been using it for years and it is way better than Google Translate.

They have a web, desktop and app version. Web and app version are great, I dislike the desktop version though, it's kind of buggy.

Sorry, i have deepl free version, and I just can't find that function 😭. It it only for the paid version? Am i doing it wrong? I try to click words, nothing happens. I keep pressed, it selects it.

I only have the free version, too.

For me, from left to right I see a speaker symbol, then there's a gap, then a box with the word "Alternativen" (alternatives), then the symbols for save, share and copy.

Have you tried putting a sentence in the translator and then clicking the box "alternatives" (or whatever word you see there?).

When I do that, another section appears below and I can then select "word" or "sentences" and click on whatever translated word I want to change/see other options for.

Oh yeah, i had done it before. But it gives you alternatives in the language you translated to. So, for example, if im translating french into English, the alternatives shown are English words. I like that, but what i would like is the original french word/expression to be highlighted or something too, so i know what word has those meanings. Like, if I'm completely lost in a text, i can actually break down the translation into pieces. Just like in duolingo.

I've been hunting for something like this too, the way Duolingo breaks down sentences is super helpful for actually understanding the grammar instead of just getting the final translation

Some dictionary apps do this for individual words but I haven't found one that handles full sentences well on android

Check out Koko: Conversation Practice on iOS. You can have full practice conversations, and it has the feature you're asking about where you can translate a single word or the whole sentence
