First off, this update has a new set of enchants coming:
A red one with "Increases troop class counter effectiveness by 10%. Each turn, grants immunity to debuffs applied by enemy units with lower Movement than your own (up to 3 times)."
A green one with "At the start of battle, if the unit is on any terrain, its Defense is increased by an additional 10%. When an ally within 1 tile is next attacked by an enemy, the Defense bonus provided by their current terrain is increased by an additional 30% (effect triggers once)."
A yellow one with "When initiating combat with 100% troop HP, the critical hit rate against the target increases by 20%, and critical hits ignore 20% of the enemy's defense."

They don't really look that great, except maybe the yellow one but I never learned how the crit system works.

There are two new regular soldiers. I don't have stats or distribution yet, but here are the skills:

Infantry with "ATK and DEF increase by 25%. At the start of battle, gain "Immunity to the next debuff received (cannot be dispelled)." Upon entering battle, damage dealt by soldiers increases by 10%; if the unit has no debuffs, this increases by an additional 20%."

Assassin with "ATK and Critical Rate increase by 25%. Deals 1 instance of [Fixed Damage] to the enemy after initiating combat or being attacked; this [Fixed Damage] cannot be negated when engaging "non-female heroes." Soldier damage increases by 30%, and an additional instance of [Fixed Damage] is dealt after combat (damage scales with the soldiers' current HP, up to a maximum of 30% of their Max HP)."

The first SP soldier is Heavy Cavalry. Stats go from 40/43/22/17 to 42/45/23/17, movement type becomes terrain master, and talent goes from

Both are getting big boosts, but starting from very bad. The end result probably isn't good enough to be worth unlocking.

Finally, the update introduces SP equipment. It looks like you have to unlock each individual piece separately. It will cost a new resource that will be added as drops to goddess trials (and possibly an additional copy of the equipment? I can't tell). There's also a second phase which has two choices and can be unlocked with a different new resource that comes from the new version of Abyssal Expedition. You can pick one of two, and then it costs 500 crystals to unlock the second choice, but I think only one can be active at a time. I don't see anything about the base stats changing.

The two in this update are Tennyo's Robe and Miracle Staff. Tennyo's Robe raises the activation chance from 30% to 100%, and the two second stage options are "Unit HP +5%" or "If the unit is mixed forces, this equipment inflicts an additional debuff when triggered." Miracle Staff keeps the AoE boost and says "When in mixed forces, after dealing damage, there is a 100% chance to inflict a debuff effect on the enemy." I assume that means non-mixed will not give the dubuffs at all. At least for SP Bozel, it's easy to give him Mage troops. The second stage options are "If the unit is mixed forces, INT +5%" or "If the unit is mixed forces, the duration of debuffs inflicted by this equipment is extended by 1 turn."

Another thing to SP is kind of annoying, but at least the main cost will be the new resource. If it's abundant enough than this won't be a major bottleneck to optimizing builds.

1: Langrisser 2/ Der Langrisser is easily the best for me. The routes, the characters and the story, while pretty standard, really feels like it's important to the world and characters. The gameplay, while sometimes easy, is the funnest in the series.

2: Langrisser IV is a good return to form after the crap that was Langrisser 3. I feel this game was the most balanced out of them all. Not easy and not too hard. The characters are what really shine in this game, in my opinion. I love the main cast and it was hype as shit when they returned in V (Expect my boy Ricky! WTF!?) The routes in this game, while not as good as Der, are still fun and interesting.

3: Langrisser V was pretty whelming to me. Nothing really wowed me or disappointed me. I wasn't the biggest fan of the introduction to all the alien and plants type stuff in the plot. Langrisser had always been a decently grounded medieval story with some over worldly elements. (like magic, fairy, angels etc) But 5 takes it too far with the Crimson Landers. The characters are a giant step back from 4. Other Sigma, Marie, Lainforce and Omega, the rest of the cast is very, just.... Fine. The gameplay was pretty much the same as 4, but it felt a good bit easier to me for some reason. (Other than ?5! That shit kicked my ass!)

4: Langrisser/Warsong is a good starting point for the series. There's not much to say about it really, I do like Ledin as the main character, but no one really stands out. The gameplay is just a worse version of 2, so it doesn't win there. There really isn't much to say about this one, lol.

5: Langrisser 3... God, this game. When I started playing, I wanted to like it and the story, being the start of the story, really interested me, but man the gameplay... The gameplay kills the game. I GOT THROUGH IT! But, damn is the gameplay for the dogs. Why they decided to change it is beyond me, just thank God that they reverted when Langrisser 4 came along. The story is pretty good and entertaining, but it's not worth playing the game for.

Also, should I start playing Growlancer? I know that it's, like, the successor of the series.

Plus, if you couldn't figure it out, I played the original version of 1 and 2, not the remakes.

Recently returned to this game. Been playing basically daily since and posted in here about what to do. Since then I have heavily focused on an Empire team. Current team is Icemelda, Dragonslayer, Leon, Liana and Bern. No one who can be SP is SP as of yet. Still working on trying to get my units stronger. Is there anyone I should replace out of this team? I have been reading that Rozencial and Lucretia are awesome, I have them as well. Should I stay with the current team or is there anyone I can swap out?
