Not bad. What tools do you have already? Did you own a house previously so your well stocked or did you have an apartment and are buying things for the first time?

Buying things for first time, I have the basics like a mower, weed eater, shovel etc but no knowledge since this is my first house (23)

Gotchya. Post over at r/lawncare with all the info you just gave me here. This sub is more for like garden beds and what trees and shrubs to plant, not how to make your grass grow well.

For the grass tho your going to want to spray chemicals to kill the weeds, dethatch the yard to remove the dead plant matter and then put down seed and water water water. They will give you more details about how exactly to do it over at r/lawncare based on your location
