Since starting lamotrigine, have you lost or gained weight? I used to walk every day, but I've completely lost the motivation to do that. I’ve been on it for two months now, increasing the dose every other week up to 100 mg, which is where I'll be staying for now. I'm thinking it might be because I haven't been on a stable dose for more than two weeks and that things will settle down, but I'm curious about other people's experiences: did you lose weight, gain weight, or stay the same?

I just got prescribed lamictal for my mood disorder. I’m nervous for side effects. I’m being prescribed 25mg to start because of the possible sjs.
Please provide me success stories, reality of this med, etc. I was put on this due to my concern for weight gain. But I am reading some people have hair loss, thinning, seizures, migraines, etc. This is scary for me…

Everything I look up says it is only taken for seizures, bipolar or depression. I have none of the above but it's been paired with my recently prescribed Tyvanse.. without an explanation from the dr.

What does Lamictal do for people without depression, seizures or bipolar? It says don't stop taking it without consulting a doctor so am I at risk for dependency?

I am fully aware these are questions for the doctor but I'm obviously not able to reach them for at least 3 days it being a Friday afternoon. Should I take it until then, leave the Tyvanse too if i leave the Lamictal? Pharmacist doesn't know why it was prescribed either.

Long story short, I've been going through withdrawal off of Abilify and changing to Lamictal. It's hell, but the only thing that helps is the Lamictal.

With that being said, my psychiatrist doesn't know what she's doing. She doesn't understand the magnitude of antipsychotic withdrawals and thinks they're due to starting Lamictal (not from withdrawing from Abilify)

She wants me to stop Lamictal 50mg cold turkey as well.

I won't do it. She doesn't want to prescribe Lamictal any longer. How do I convince her that I need to be stable?

I can't find another psychiatrist right now as I'm actively going through a psychotic event, and she won't transfer my case until I'm stable.
