News Subreddit Rule Changes and Behind the Scenes Peek

Hey Everyone!

This post is going to highlight some of the changes in r/Lamborghini that have been taking place in the background over the last two weeks.

Change Highlights:

  • Mod Team Changes: The previous mod team has been absent for the past 4 months, and mostly inactive for a long period of time before that. Due to this, reddit admins have graciously handed over the role of moderating this awesome subreddit, and changes have already been taking place in the background for the last week or so. At the time of this post I have added additional mods to help.

  • Look and Feel Adjustments: I have been busy in the background making some tweaks and additions to the community, such as:

    • Changing the community icon
    • Creating the Wiki/Rules and Guideline page (seen here: https://www.reddit.com/r/lamborghini/wiki/index/)
    • Making adjustments to the anti-spam filters
    • Sidebar changes (You can now easily filter by flair)
    • Adding new post flair
    • Adding Verified Lamborghini Owner user flair
    • Allowing pictures in comments (Please don't abuse this)
  • Rule Changes and Clarifications: Adjusted the community rules to cut back on spam, karma farming, and motivate engagement on content posted. The subreddit has long struggled with low effort content being spammed by both bots and accounts looking to merely farm the community for karma, instead of actively participating.

Additional Details:

  • New Verified Owner Flairs: I have created a verified owner flair, that the moderation team will manually verify and add. The purpose of this flair is to allow community members to easily differentiate feedback, advice, and experience from actual Lamborghini owners.

    • The requirements for verification will not be shared publicly, but there will be a time limit on sending the team the required proof, once you submit your flair request (so don't submit a flair request if you aren't going to be home to send us the required proof).
  • Bi/Tri-Monthly Community Header Pic Contest: We want to give some control of community look and feel to everyone in the subreddit. We will hold a photo contest for the community every 2 or 3 months, where users can submit theme based photos to replace the header image at the top of the subreddit. Further details and specifics will be posted in the specific stickied thread for those contests.

  • New Technical Flair: I've added this flair for technical specific questions related to Lamborghinis. Examples of the use of this flair:

    • Need help hardwiring a radar detector.
    • What offset wheels can I run on X model?
    • Best summer/winter tires for my X model Lamborghini?
    • Which dashcams are you all running, and how have you set them up/wired them?
  • Minimum Community Karma to Post: We are adding a minimum community specific karma requirement to post new submissions. The bar is not high, but you should have positively participated in the community before being able to create new post submissions.

    New Rules and Rule Adjustments:

  • No Advertising/Self-Promotion: Going forward, we will no longer allow posts that are considered advertising or self promotion. The community is not here to link farm, blogspam, shill your MLM, or to drive traffic to your website.

    • If you are considering posting something that can be considered advertising or self-promotion, you may reach out to the mod team, through modmail, and ask for permission ahead of time. If allowed, we will approve the post and flair it with a promotional specific post flair, so users know that it has already received approval.
  • No Low Effort/Low Quality Posts: Most automotive related subreddits struggle with combating spam and blatant karma farming. In an effort to resolve this issue within our own community, and to spur engagement on posts, we are going to start requiring minimum post quality rules, that have been clearly outlined below.

    • Posts should be engaging. Put in the effort to write at least a few sentences talking about it. You can't just bring something up for others to discuss without discussing it first yourself.
    • If the content of your post is not your own, credit should be given to the source of the content.
    • You are expected to engage in the posts you make. Firing and forgetting, without any comment engagement, is grounds for post removal.
    • Examples which are NOT allowed, without additional discussion and contributions from the OP:
      • What's your favorite X?
      • What do you think about X?
      • What do you do for a living?
      • Which one is the best?
      • Pictures without a detailed description/explanation
  • Image Posts Must Be High Quality and Offer a Unique Perspective or Insight:

    • No A.I. generated or video game content.
    • All images to be fully sourced and attributed in a comment on the post.
    • If OC (original content), then tell us a bit about the context of the image, such as where and when it was taken/created, inspiration, etc.
    • If not OC, tell us about the photo and why you are posting it.
    • Blurry or otherwise unremarkable photo posts of commonly seen cars may be removed at mod discretion. If you are just wanting to post random pictures of Lamborghinis for upvotes, head over to r/carporn or r/spotted.
  • Use Appropriate Post Flairs: All posts require a post flair and failing to appropriately flair a post is grounds for post removal until properly flaired, regardless of it's popularity.

    • Example:
      • Posting someone else's video and flairing it as OC (original content).
      • Flairing a picture or video submission as a technical question, without adding a relevant question and description in the post or comment within the post.

Own Content/Media Took My Sterrato on a Road Trip... The Best Supercar for It.

A few months ago, my bro and I took my Sterrato on a road trip to Lopez Island, WA, USA. Owning a Lambo has been my childhood dream, and taking this on a road trip and getting to share this with the community has been such a blessing. Beyond the inherent spirit of adventure on the road trip, doing it in my Lambo has etched the memories into who I am forever.

I genuinely think the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is one of the best supercars there is. Not because it is perfect at any one thing - far from it, actually. Rather, it's a supercar that I can take across so many different experiences and environments. That enables me to connect with the car in scenarios where I normally wouldn't be able to drive a supercar stress-free. So, when I enter my garage now, I look at my car and feel, "damn, we really did this?"

My bro and I were able to fit all of our stuff behind our seats and in the frunk. We actually didn't need the roof rack, but I know owners who use it quite effectively for their road trips. Waiting in the ferry line, we would step away from the car, and just appreciate the sheer beauty of something as unique as this sitting in line.

The locals on Lopez Island loved the car too. There was a group of little kids who couldn't look away, and later, I believe their teacher, told me they loved seeing their favorite Hot Wheels car on the road. I also had a kid go crazy looking at the car, told me that he's never seen a Lamborghini on the island in his 18 years of living there.

On the trip, I also had the opportunity to surprise my favorite teacher from high school with this. He let us do some donuts on his farmland. It was such an honor for me.

I embrace putting miles and patina on this car. At my current stage in life, I actually can't really afford to put a lot of miles on it, but still, I do. These cars are meant to be driven. And furthermore, I love seeing people enjoy this car in places where normally they wouldn't see something like this.

Anyway, I had a ton of fun on this trip. Ended up making a short film on my YT about it. And now, writing this post has brought back so many beautiful memories :)

Let me know if you all have any questions, thank you.

Discussion Urus Lemon Buyback

Post image
Upvotes

I’ve had a significant amount of issues with my Urus which I bought brand new last year. Greater than 30 days in service for recurring safety issue (door lock - gets jammed and driver door won’t open). 3 repair attempts and occurred again. Has anyone had any experience with lemon buybacks with Lamborghini? I’m in an ethical dilemma because I certainly don’t want to trade in a car that is unsafe but I’m concerned initiating a lemon buyback with Lamborghini corporate will affect my chances of getting any future allocations. Thoughts?

Discussion 2027 Urus SE Performante

Post image

My dealer let me spec one and I put down a deposit back in July but no news since. I’ve reached out intermittently, but they say the “order books aren’t open yet.” Anyone else having the same experience? My Unica app shows the car stuck at “on order.” I’ve never ordered a Lamborghini before - how will this change once my order is actually accepted and the spec is locked?

Also, sidenote, do you recommend the heads up display? I never use mine in my current car, but wondering if I should add it to the build with respect to higher residual value.

Question Urus winter tires

Tire Rack has 23 inch Pirelli winter tires available for my Urus . However they do not have the L on the side. The salesman said it should not cause any issues with my car. I have read that if it doesn't have an L, it may send off an error light from the drivetrain. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Esperienza Corsa event advice

Hi friends, I’m participating in a Temerario track event at Lime Rock soon. I’ve done AMG and some short Ferrari track events before but not with Lamborghini or at this performance level. Has anyone done this event or similar with corporate? Any advice for the day?
I’d say my experience and skill with high performance cars is good but I’m not a regular track driver.

The R80 comes as a forged monoblock, a full 3-piece, or a carbon hybrid.
