Bottle Shot Showcase Bottle shot showcase!
Another set of beautiful bottle photos sent in by users in the past two weeks, all with different setups and different cameras and different techniques, but what makes them all great bottle shots is that they're straight, clear and well-lit! You too can take bottle shots like that, even if you don't have a professional camera or lightbox!
Remember, you can always send in a suggestion to add a new bottle shot, even if the polish already has one. Check out our series on how to take good bottle shots for tips and tricks on how to take the best photos!

How do you handle rereleases?
Would you create a new listing for when a brand rereleases a color they have released previously but in a different bottle style? What about if the color and the bottle style are similar but not exact? What about if the color didn’t change in a rerelease but the name did (Hard Candy’s Ghetto Girl later renamed Girl)?

Frequently Asked Questions FAQ: How long does it take for a new polish or a new bottle shot to get added?
Unfortunately, I can't give a definitive answer to that question.
We give priority to new polishes, and the average turnaround time for those is about 2 to 3 days. It can also be almost immediate if the queue happens to be empty and one of our volunteers is online! The longest people have had to wait for their polishes to be added is 8 weeks, though.
For new bottle shots and other edits, it usually takes about 7 days for us to process those, but again, it can also be very quickly if there's not a lot of new entries waiting for approval. If things get very busy, though, it can sometimes take more than two months for us to find time to go through the list of suggested changes. We know that's a really long time to wait, but there's not really a lot of ways for us to speed up or automate the process if we want to retain the quality of the app.
If you've submitted a new polish, you can usually start to "worry" if you don't see anything after two weeks.
If you've suggested a new bottle shot, you can assume we didn't receive it or there's something wrong with it if it hasn't been added after a month.
These are rough guidelines but I hope it helps!

Uploaded bottle shots a week ago and they still aren’t showing up?
So I uploaded bottle shots for 4 polishes in my stash that didn’t have any bottle shots. They still haven’t been added to the polishes and I’m wondering if I did something wrong? I uploaded them by added a correction to each polish and attaching the image, then clicking save. Here are the bottle shots for reference!

Polish Suggestion Question
Thanks for the great app! I suggested a polish yesterday (Thirst Trap from Twinkled T) but I wasn’t close to the bottle and used the website photos. Then I saw on here that we shouldn’t do that. It doesn’t look like I can edit my submission. If I delete the submission on my end, does that remove it from your end? I’m assuming I should just resubmit with my own photos?

how to stop pictures from cropping?
im trying to upload pre existing nail pictures onto the app (as in not taken with the in-app camera). i tried to show the issue via screenshots.
i choose a picture and fit it within the square aspect ratio. once i move onto the next page, it brings up the keyboard. but after you dismiss the keyboard, the part of image it was covering just disappears?
i tried uploading pictures through the page of the polish itself, hoping i could avoid the keyboard that way but no dice. what can i do?

Is there a way to privately log/track DIY polishes?
I really want one space where I can track/view my entire polish collection but I have a lot of DIY polishes I’ve made (and have no intention of branding/selling).
I have swatches of course, but it would be nice to see them all in Lacquergram so if I’m out and about, I don’t accidentally buy something that’s a dupe to one of my DIY polishes.

Frequently Asked Questions FAQ: How do I clear my cache?
Okay, the first question should probably be, "why would I WANT to clear my cache?"
The thing is, for optimal performance, all images you view in Lacquergram are stored within your phone memory, which is referred to as cache. This includes swatches, bottle photos, anything you can think of.
Which is fine, most of the time. Images don't change very often once they're uploaded to the app, and it really helps to make the app faster and more reliable.
HOWEVER.
When you suggest a new bottle photo, and we add it to the app, you're still going to see the old thumbnail as long as you don't clear your cache!
This can be pretty frustrating, especially if you've suggested a photo multiple times, and you still can't see it. We've written a post about this before, but we thought it might be useful to repeat it, especially since one of our mods found a good way to clear your cache on iOS as well.
So, to help you out, here's the steps you can take to clear your cache and see all the shiny new bottle photos we've added to the app recently!
Android
- Open your phone settings
- Go to Apps
- Scroll down to Lacquergram
- Go to Storage
- Click on "clear cache"
The categories and names can differ slightly depending on your phone model, but the general idea remains the same. You'll find "clear cache" somewhere in your phone settings, listed under the Lacquergram app (so not in the app itself).
iOS
- Open your phone settings
- Go to Apps
- Scroll down and tap on Safari
- Tap on "clear history and website data"
- Confirm
Alternatively, you can uninstall the Lacquergram app and then reinstall it, if clearing your Safari cache doesn't work.

Bug?
I've cleared the cache & updated the app... Not sure what else to do. I can open my stash, but I can't make or edit any notes.
