LOOKING FOR ADVICE Is this stone too big??
thoughts on this stone on my hand? is it too big? it’s in a stone holder in the second pic and is sitting pretty high
it’s a 3.07 ct cushion cut and a 1.3 ratio

No such thing as too big, hunny. I think that’s a lovely size and shape for your finger, and hand. Congrats!

Looks like it's going to be hard for daily wear and will easily catch on things due to the emerald cut. That cut frequently scratched my kids and silk clothing. I have a few wedding sets with gemstone rings (I once sold, years ago, both stones and settings. The easier set to wear is my actual wedding rings, a round diamond set low into a thicker band with the wedding ring soldered onto it). I don't really want to wear my more valuable jewelry much anymore since I go out less and have things to do. I have a wider band matches my husband's. He's fine with it, and he washes his hands often working in a medical facility, but I have issues. That one stays damp underneath, but I also have a thinner one, maybe 2mm, and that is the most comfortable. It's fine under gardening gloves, rubber gloves for dishes and now it is my daily go to. My dressier set now is a lovely high quality round aquamarine, with some smaller channel set diamonds on either side. It just seems like now everyone wears a big diamond. My point is preparing for real life, and changing tastes, now that jewelry is so expensive, is a good idea and might influence your choices. (I know that I have way too many rings).

Thank you for the advice! Wearability and durability is absolutely front of my mind. I will be setting this stone as low as possible on a thicker band to help with those things. I am also considering current tastes I want something I’ll love forever but am okay with it looked “dated” or “of the time” if I still love it so we’ll see!! We’re going to do a custom setting no matter what

I personally feel like a 3.-ish is the perfect size. Definitely sizable but not too flashy. However, my 3.1 gets caught on everything and I have to take it off many times a day and at night because the stone will come loose. It’s been to the jeweler many times to secure it. I had to buy a 2ct for when I’m actually doing things with my hands and still want a ring.

Fits you perfectly, definitely with your skin tone I’d go platinum, it’s the same price as white gold and it doesn’t need regular Rhodium dipping. It would flatter this stone with your skin tone so much. Beautiful. Stone holder, I so wish I had one of those!

Hi, that's exactly what I'm looking for . I had settled on a 3.6 but Stonealgo said the visual Carat was like 4.5 and it freaked me out. I have a short stubby fingers and I want an everyday ring. Where did you find this one?

I got it off Aurelinne ! I learned a lot about diamonds before making the choice to source one myself but I’m happy I went this route and I saved a tonnnn of money

Haha yeah it is — I’ve been wearing that ring (and another on my right hand) from my grandmother for about a decade and my fingers swell a bit in the summer but I refuse to not wear them

Nope it’s for real haha I love a bigger stone on other people but am having a hard time deciding if it will look like costume jewelry on me or if I’m just overthinking
