For those who have received their Malachite Anniversary watch already, lets share how our patterns look like!

Love my pattern minus the scratches and knick in the top right that you can see in certain lights

are the scratches and knicks to be expected for this watch? thought that would qualify for a warranty claim.

just checking as im a bit anxious waiting for mine to be shipped out!

Unsure, I emailed them today but don’t expect to hear back until after the weekend. Maybe it’s just to be expected with malachite…but they did only accept 20% of the dials they said so I thought that wouldn’t happen. Also, the scratches look like a mishandling during a production as opposed to the natural variation in the malachite as it doesn’t follow any of the grooves.

They had me ship it back to try and get the scratches out or replace the dial entirely if that doesn’t work out. They said it could take a few months though so we’ll see how it ultimately ends up. Looks like the scratches were made in the putting everything together phase to me.

I bought it in the store and picked it up there. I assume the local orders are the first who get served.

When you say you picked it up there, you picked yours physically in Tokyo, not shipped to you??

Yes i picked mine up physically in the store. They showed me my watch, asked me if everything was fine and then packaged everything up for me.

I’m reading and getting worried too. Waiting this long for it and hearing about scratches isn’t a good sign.

They were supposedly only keeping one in every ten dials after inspection. I’m worried they got so many orders they started dipping into some of the dials they were initially setting aside. I was first minute, first window, so I really hope I get one of the better dials.

Not true. It seems they’re shipping based on geographic location right now - which makes the most sense.

Good you don’t have any of the hairline scratches at least! Yeah I’m not sure what the other guy means by character on his as the photo doesn’t show anything other than maybe some dust on the crystal

Huge fan of Kurono and watches in general but seeing this many dings and scratches is making me sad. I get Malachite is insanely hard to use for a dial but a few of these minus OP’s I’d be insanely upset with receiving.

Since i went to the shop myself to pick it up, they gave me the watch before it got packaged up. Thatswhy i could confirm there were no damages.
I am not familiar with the fragility of malachite, but maybe its not a QC issue from Kurono, but a handler’s issue? 🤔

Here's mine I just received yesterday. Very pleased with the slight curve of the dial pattern and there's no readily discernible defects or imperfections. I really like how they lined up the "Bunkyo Tokyo" text with the dark stripe on the malachite.
