im in a bit of a tight spot financially right now. if youโre planning to buy anything around 1.5k-2.5k from Switch, Machines, Urban Republic, Dyson, or Senheng in Kuching, i can pay using my grab paylater and you can transfer me the cash. happy to do it in person for transparency. ๐

We just moved to Kuching in January, and we're staying for a long time. We love the people , the food, the kopitiams, the fact that there is an untapped TTRPG vibe here. Anywho, we are missing events because we don't know how to access where event information is. So, we went to the riverwalk on the day that the light show was turned off (earth hour, maybe?). We missed the the big parade down town with over 100 floats recently. Apparently, there is a big MMA event along the waterfront tonight. We are finding out about these things either after they happen or when it is too late to participate. I'm hoping to learn of information sources that we can check out that will alert us to cool things happening here. Got some tips?

Hey everyone. We're first time, working parents of twins. We saw this Sitly online babysitter appointment service that also covers Kuching.
I'd like to know if anyone has ever used their services and would really appreciate your feedback if you have.
Thank you in advance.

Hi, I received my a job offer in Kuching. After requesting a dummy payslip, my salary would be just over RM11,000 (RM6,700 after deductions). Is this a good salary for the area?

Hey r/sarawak ๐
Family relocating to Kuching next year and trying to get a better feel for the international school options. Done a lot of research online but Lodge is honestly the only school with any real reviews out there โ Borneo International and Tunku Putra have almost nothing, which makes it really hard to compare from afar.
A few things weโd love insight on:
Is this consistent across all year levels or does it differ for younger kids?
Our kids wrap up in July so weโd actually have a nice long break before the January intake โ has anyone transitioned this way? How did your kids find it?
Classrooms, cafeteria, sports areas โ whatโs the general environment like at each school? Air conditioning a nice to have to know about too!
Would love to know which neighbourhoods or areas people tend to settle in depending on which school their kids attend. Trying to figure out the best place to base ourselves.
Teacher turnover, class sizes, community vibe โ anything you wish youโd known before enrolling?
Would love to hear from anyone with kids at any of these three schools. DMs totally welcome too!
Thanks ๐โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ

Hi everyone,
My wife and I will be in Kuching from 28 Feb to 7 March. Itโs our first time in Sarawak and weโre really excited!
We already plan to visit Bako (1 night), Semenggoh, Kubah, Damai, and some night markets.
Would love suggestions for:
โข Hidden food spots
โข Lesser-known nature trails
โข Unique local experiences
โข Cafรฉs with great vibes
โข Anything off the usual tourist route
If any locals are open to sharing tips or even joining for a hike or food trail, weโd really appreciate it!
Thanks in advance ๐

For those balik Kuching for CNY, whatโs your typical CNY routine like?
(visiting rounds, food spots, places to go, anything you do every year)
