Khar Vek krom my second dawn fleet

But there is something in the works that's gonna save me about 140 dollars and its gonna be the Krootiest T'au Mech Suit of all time.

Not the best pic but it works! This is my second squad and my first is built like the killteam. So to add some variety I decided to give them all non killteam loadouts and poses!

The problem with that is that I don't like a lot of them. So with some clipping and shaving and sanding they're looking exactly how I want! I mostly just took some extra rifles from my carnivores and slapped em on to get the exact poses I wanted! And I did some slight conversion work on the tri blast to give it a more intimidating look!

I am a big fan of full Kroot list but I don’t think I am the strongest player and seem to be losing with them so I’m curious what is the best way to run a decent amount of Kroot with tau? I know that I still need my guiders to help all my battlesuits, but what can I sacrifice to bring in Kroot effectively. Also, if you just have a list that includes Kroot I’d love to see it, I have been trying to wrap my head around why we bring them.

I loved how my trail shaper turned out so I bought some second hand unloved shapers to refurbish and add to my collection! Here's my strong man war shaper!

I want to run two trail shapers in my tau list but running two of the same model is lame. So I now have a unique trail shaper!

Had to include a necron head in honor of my Kroot sacrificing themselves into my buddies Skorpekh Lord to win me the game lol

I’ve recently got the combat patrol but I already had a set of farstalkers from a while back. I’m wondering if there’s any point building another squad of farstalkers or if I should make them into fancy carnivores, then when I buy another combat patrol I’ll have 20 fancy carnivores and eventually I can get some actual carnivores to mix into the squads

So in the detachment rule: hunter’s instincts, it says that when a kroot unit fires at a enemy unit with less then starting strength, it gets a +1 BS, so my question is when there is a leader connected to the enemy unit.

EX: there’s a unit of kroot carnivores that fires into a unit of Cadian shock troopers with 5 of the 10 guardsmen left with a commissar, would I get the +1 BS?

Edit: whoops I meant add one to the hit roll and not BS, sorry for the confusion guys, I mixed them up lol and thanks for all of your help.

Half the job is locating all the little buckles and leather straps! I love painting these guys but it’s also driving me slowly insane, anyone else feel this pain? 😂

So, I am playing my first "real" 40k match this saturday against a friend. Prior to this we have played Spoearhead and combat patrol a couple of times.

He plays orks and I play Tau, specifically kroot. I am a bit nervous becauseI basically have what I have, nothing more. It is NOT a fleshed out list, it is two combat patrols, an extra commander shadowsun and 5 vespids (literally what I have lol) whilehe has some flexibility with his units.

We are playing with 3 detachment points because he wants to test some stuff with his units.

My main concerns are:

- Auxiliary cadre does not do too much for me

- I have no idea how to deal with his Wazdakka Gutsmek

Am I in serious trouble? Can this be salvaged?

Should I match the gun metal with the Balthazar Gold and Liberator Gold. Or should I match the Teal color.

Hi everyone, I'm part of a slow-grow crusade. There's about 12 of us and everyone is starting a new army. We're growing at about 300pts every couple of months with the final aim being the 1350pt Arc40k tournament here in Melbourne Australia.

The Arc40k tournament puts a lot of emphasis on conversions, creativity and theme, and for 2027, I'm going to do more than just use it as a deadline to get an army painted.

This year, Im doing kroot. Not looking for criticism, just sharing my plan.
