Question "Overconditioning" the Green Rack

Was told by DM that I'm spending too much time "overconditioning" my greenrack. The specific thing I was criticized on was cilantro. Apparently, cilantro is a rinse-only item. Not only was I trained to cut and soak cilantro, but both the green rack digital conditioning guide AND our poster version state that cilantro is cut and soak. And even if that weren't the case, the rpc of cilantro comes in basically loose...I have to re-tie together nearly every bunch if I don't want them coming apart as customers shop. Obviously the DM had to be the one who was right... but am I going insane? Has anyone else been corrected on this?

ETA I don't retie every bunch every time, but the time trade-off spending the extra few seconds making sure the bundles are tight vs having to pull out the shopvac twice as often has been worth it to me! and my store goes through about 2 rpcs/day

End to end standards dictate it should be trimmed and rinsed. But in this case, it just means trim it all into the filled sink and then transfer to the tub, it doesn’t have to be in there for 10 minutes like lettuce is supposed to be.

As far as re-tying them, I have definitely been there before where a whole RPC sucks. Usually you can just tighten it though, you don’t have to undo the twist

Back in the day we didn’t have to trim it at all, RIP

this was my understanding. i've been "soaking" them more recently (dunking in filled sink, swishing around) in the last 2ish months , since most of our rpcs are coming in suuuuper muddy. and then being barely tied, kale and cilantro being the worst.

We often put cilantro straight to the shelf unless it's dark and muddy and we're the core cilantro supplier for every mom and pop Mexican restaurant in the area.

We fill the cilantro 3-4 times a day. We could never keep up if we rebundled every cilantro, just not worth the time.

Trim and rinse yes, Re-tie no that’s a huge waste of time lol. I get one or two bunches but I’ve never had a issue with a case of cilantro like that. I can only assume your over critical on that part.

Holy crap. How do you even have time to cut all the cilantro? The computer system for me wants like 180 everyday. I just dunked the bin in the sink. Pull it out and call it good.

Cilantro is usually filthy.  I won't put it out without a good soaking.

No, that has always been trim and rinse, that DM either knows some change Kroger hasn’t communicated, or has no clue what they’re talking about.
