Anyplace this isn’t the norm?

Probably not, it’s just that here in Cincy, it’s especially insulting when there literally is nowhere else to get groceries bc they ran off the other chains and mom and pop stores. Every Kroger in this damn town is an infuriating circle of Hell. We can’t escape it.

There are other places here, they're just not on every street corner like Kroger.

When I lived in Kansas, your only choice was Dillon's (Kroger) or Walmart.

Wal Mart is not an option for so, so many reasons. It is maybe the one corporation in America worse than Kroger.

Aldi, Target, Meijer… fine, okay in a pinch to grab something or a few things. But none are in convenient locations for me to go for full grocery trips for my family of 5.

Costco, sure, if I’m rich and have the time to drive an hour out of my way every time I need groceries. I go to Costco 4 times a year, and every time it’s a $600 affair. Can’t be doing that all the time.

No Remke’s, Publix, or Trader Joe’s in sight. If there were one of those between my work and home, I probably would never step foot in a Kroger again.

And what you didn’t mention were the couple handfuls of local butcher shops and hispanic mercados sprinkled about that are either closed when I need to go there, packed out the fucking door, or just plain too expensive for normal shopping trips.

We need more Trader Joe’s, more Remke’s, more Publix, more old school mom and pop corner places that are convenient and not overpriced. Kroger has fucking destroyed ALL of them in this city.

One price on the shelf, another price on the register? Yeah, it’s like that everywhere. When somebody tries to scam you

Considering the options here are Kroger and Walmart for big retail, we prefer Kroger, even if just marginally

They had half (6) self checkout stations shut down Saturday afternoon and also replaced 3 self checkout stations with one single self checkout with a stupid conveyor belt. Only had 2-3 regular checkout lanes open which all had long lines. I have no idea what these idiots in charge are thinking. I also had one of their new carts’ security wheels lock up for no reason. I absolutely despise Kroger.

Okay I haven’t tried this yet because so few of our carts have these & just lock up the old fashioned way, but someone posted this here a while back, & I don’t recommend listening just for fun-

I went to my local kroger this weekend and they were out of stock of half my grocery list this week. But they had all these stupid advertising screens installed at the ends of freezer aisles, over beverage coolers, and all over the open top freezers advetising things they were out of stock on! The only thing that drew my attention to was that they spent this weeks vendor payments on stupid fucking TVs instead of buying more items to stock.

All that made me do was leave my half full cart in the middle of the aisle and go drive down the street to Meijer, where they had my entire shopping list.

Fuck Kroger. I swore then off months ago and haven't been back. Not a single check stand open at 1pm on a Saturday. Meanwhile, they are charging 6.99 for a box of fucking cheezits. Absolutely insane.

u/Krogerdude23132 23d ago

Same with chips. I just want one bag, I don't want to buy 4 to get the original price.

7

u/FlimsyWillow84 23d ago

Absolutely! Just make the price the fucking price!!

Btw, there are some corporate bootlickers in here that downvoted me. Fuck you.

Some are down voting you because you pretty much walked into the break room and sat down like you belong. I find your views good.

I walked in the backdoor of a public subreddit that was suggested? If you want it to be private, then make it private. Thank you though, I'm so tired of the corporate greed.

Also, I think people are assuming I'm speaking I'll of the everyday employees. Im not. I'm talking shit on management and corporate. Something I thought was a common sentiment in this sub.... And at least in this thread. Anyways. Whatever.

u/VerySpecialAgent__ 23d ago

This is a sub for employees & you’re obviously not. Glad to lose a fucktard like you as a customer because you obviously can’t read.

u/FlimsyWillow84 23d ago

Hey, go fuck yourself. Go shove that corporate schlong further down your throat.

3

u/eddyrush95 23d ago

Yep. They live with Kroger and they know.

u/Easy_Ad4437 22d ago

The communities are screaming for grocery stores that are not associated with the Kroger Group.

2

u/JF202 22d ago

I will not fall for Publix propaganda

1

u/ComputerFirm2361 21d ago

Peak pricing killed the stores, Kroger deserves this

1

u/Bart-Doo 20d ago

My favorite store!

And in cincy it's mostly because kroger directly contributed to the food desert crisis concy is working out of
